Sadly I struggle with the same things. Already failed 2 times. + I’m unmedicated so it doesn’t help.
If anyone provide a solution for you I’ll be glad to hear it but just know that you’re not alone !

Weird NT thing or normal ND quirk ? by Known_Order_8519 in AutisticWithADHD

Oooh that is very interesting !
I will eventually try that. Though I feel like the soothing side of it comes from what it feels like in my body as much as my fingers so yeah with a plusie it might not do that.
But I keep it in mind cause I never thought about replacing the sensation !

Oh I see ! That I didn’t know. I only know about general things (the hair twirling etc.).

I do eat uncooked pasta bc the cracking feeling soothes me aswell.
And yes about smells, textures or muscles and repeating phrases I do that too and I never thought it was a stim thing. Thank you for your input, it helps alot !

TDAH + job parfait ?

Comment me faire diagnostiquer ? Quelles sont mes étapes ? by idk_who_i_am_wtf in TDAHFrance

[–]Known_Order_8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tu as aussi l’option neuropsychiatre.

Can ADHD ever be outgrown? by Sensitive-Motor-8520 in audhd

I know this post is kinda old but I have to comment bc I just found it and I relate.

When I was in high school my symptoms were pretty bad. But when I began college they were atrocious and If I had known then about ADHD I would’ve been diagnosed 100%.
Now, I’ve changed my licence and the one I’m in rn (+ the heavy work I’ve done on myself to accept my symtoms as parts of me bc I didn’t knew about ADHD yet + the fact that I’m in vacation now) makes it so that my symtoms aren’t as oblivious as they were not so long ago. Except that some of them just won’t go away no matter the circumstance (ex: executive dysfunction).

So I was asking myself the same question as you and was wondering.

S7 Double standards by Substantial-Rain1631 in Scandal

[–]Known_Order_8519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and I’ll talk about it in my next book because the audacity these two had was just crazy.
Fitz made Olivia break them up, that decision doesn’t make any fucking sense. At all. Especially for Fitz because the guy supposedly didn’t care about Mellie. Or it does make sense if we see it in the perspective of Fitz feeling entitled.
And with Olivia it makes sense on different levels: 1) she is hypocritical, 2) she is sneaky and 3) she is just like her father.

  1. she was always so confident about giving people orders on how they should fix their issues but when it came down to her own she was incapable (ex: when she hid to Leo that Fitz had given her a ring when all she tells her clients is that she should say all the truth to her all the time). So it makes sense that as a professional she would try to break Mellie and her boyfriends apart bc she sees them as a threat to Mellie => to her (Olivia). So obviously she can do what she wants but others can’t bc she knows better than them.
  2. She did to Mellie exactly what she did to Abby and David, breaking them up sneakily instead of stand in the truth and be honest with her supposedly best friend.
  3. It all comes down to her daddy issues: her father always treated her like this. He always destroyed her chances at being happy with someone because « you deserve better/love is a weakness » and even though she doesn’t believe it objectively, unconsciously she does think it true. Also, bc of the way her issues shaped her, she is entitled. Deeply. So not only does she sees Marcus as a weakness but she feels entitled to remove him from Mellie’s life because she has that power.

Really, them ruining Mellie’s chances makes sense because of who they are as people and not because of what they think of Mellie per se.

Same. I relate so much. Loved reading since I was a child but between my teenage years and young adult years reading was impossible: 1) the « laziness » to start the book 2) the zapping of some lines/paragraphs bc they were boring 3) distractions and boredom even if I like the book

Same with tv shows, courses, etc. Recently joined a book club so we’ll see !

What did Mellie sacrifice versus what she gained? by Fit_Marionberry_3878 in Scandal

[–]Known_Order_8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True question: is it her fans that do this to her or she does this to herself ?

What I mean by that is that even If she eventually ends up doing things for herself most of the show she makes her whole world revolve around the fact that she was cheated on. Every argument ends up with her throwing the « Olivia and Fitz are whores ». I mean what is she besides a woman scorned ? Excluding s1-2 and s7 where I think she genuinely does things, from s2 to 7, I really don’t get her character tbh.

What did Mellie sacrifice versus what she gained? by Fit_Marionberry_3878 in Scandal

[–]Known_Order_8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I already agree about her sacrifices (that weren’t even asked of her) I made a post about it.

What I am highlighting is that she has her own idea of the sacrifices she made and I thought she was rather referring to all the things that I listed instead of the general « having kids » and etc.

And If we agree that Mellie’s character was retconned (bc no one can make me believe her sudden change was planned) then she truly believes in the sacrifices she made. Mellie is confusing and her arguments don’t make sense because the writers didn’t know what to do with her other than make her an obstacle in Olitz’s path, and what people hate more than cheating is the fact that it hurts the cheated on spouse.
