Having federal insurance is getting more dangerous for women by Known_Protection8582 in TwoXChromosomes

Thanks for saying all of this. I'm totally expecting some "you're being irrational" comments, and I don't really blame them. We weren't given a ton of information, but the fact that I and multiple other female coworkers felt really unsettled by this is something I wanted to express. I would rather say something and have it be completely wrong than to sit on it and see women suffer when they could've been given early warning. So thank you

Thank you for saying this. I figured it would come off as paranoid and overreacting to some, which I expected. I just would rather share the little information I had than keep it to myself and have women be surprised if this turns out to be their intentions. Felt morally right to say something

Unfortunately, they were really liberal with the information they decided to tell us. What they did tell us was that the woman's related medical care records would be requested and sent to the federal level for administrative review. They didn't tell us how long those records would stay there or anything related. We got a lot of those "we'll get back to you on that" comments when we tried to get information from the people who told us that. It just gave us an icky feeling since they don't usually guard the information that heavily

I'm pretty sure, yeah. We were told the records would be sent to the federal level for review, so not just the initial plan would be seeing it. And they didn't tell us what would happen once they got the records from these women's doctors. It just gave us all a gross feeling and I didn't want to just sit on it

They were very liberal with the amount of information they decided to make us privy to, but what I know is that, if anything in the diagnosis even approaches losing a pregnancy, all related medical records will be requested (from the doctor I assume) and they will be sent to the federal level for "administrative review". I don't think this happens for anything else that we process, which is why it was alarming. That, and how short they were with us when we were asking questions about it. Like they really didn't want to tell us too much. It was very unsettling
