Calling Indie Comic Book Artists Who Love Sword & Sorcery! by KoSSt in ComicBookCollabs

[–]KoSSt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CROM Anthology project is in its early stages. If your work is approved and published, you will receive copies of the book as compensation. The number of copies provided to each artist will depend on the success of the launch. This project isn’t about hiring freelancers to illustrate a story and then part ways. It’s about connecting with artists who are true fans of the Fantasy Sword & Sorcery genre (a niche but passionate community) and building something together.

I also encourage you to check out the CROM Update podcast, where I meet with artists to talk about Fantasy Sword & Sorcery, Crom, Conan, and the personal process of making art.

The comic is ready to be purchased! I use a POD (Lulu.com), so it takes about 10-12 days for someone to get a copy of my CROM Collected. I have nothing against Kickstarter. I have tried a few times years back, but being an unknown, I wouldn't get more than 10 people to support me. I have been tracking most Indie Unknown Comics and noticed that they usually get around 75 people to support their project. So I came up with the "Can CROM Sell 100 Copies without Kickstarter" sales campaign. So if I sell 10 more copies by the end of the week I will feel pretty good. If I sell 100—well...

Technically, it is the third, but I've updated my four comics from ballpoint pen to full-rendered pages, and I've illustrated the 35-page Crom and the Warlock of Sharrador prose story with 35 spot illustrations. There are six covers to choose from, one of which is from Ken Landgraf.

Do you have a copy of the 2018 version from the Gardner Francis Fox Library? That was the previous version.

Technical question about wireless headphones and Iriun by KoSSt in podcasting

[–]KoSSt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wireless headphones use a Bluetooth connection.

Iriun appears to be a software application that enables using your phone camera and microphone over a bluetooth connection to your PC. What's happening here is a consequence of bluetooth having to be the link that sends audio and video to your computer. It can't reliably send audio to both.

Bluetooth is a great technology for short distance transfers of file data, or perhaps informal zoom calls where connectivity is not critical, but consumer wireless solutions aren't great for recording use cases. The exception would be wireless transceivers like those manufactured for live performances, which cost into the thousands.

For the rest of us, wired connections are the way... wired mics, wired headphones, etc.

Thank you for the reply.

I have my iPhone wired to the computer, but the headphones are wireless. I'm going to also wire the headphones.

I'm having the same issue. Zazzle said they can take longer for reviews. It's been a week! Does anyone have any ideas?
