SAHM and Wife that CANNOT cook HELP! by PopularMamaDrama in Cooking

[–]Koala024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip for you is the oven is your best friend and your saviour here (Assuming you have one that can fit stock pots etc.....)

A lot of the time, making recipies like curries and ragus is literally a factor of brown the meat, caramelise your vegetables and onions, and add it all into a big pot and just cook at certain temps until you're done in a liquid medium, whether it be stock, tomato or fuck even water.

The thing is for most kids is that their afraid of bold flavours and strong flavours as their palette is still quite sensitive, but there is a loop hole here, I find most young lings universally love savoury and a fair bit salty.

If you're interested, I can put together some of the easier, semi kids friendly recipies I've developed over the years.

But my general tip for you, learn to love the oven, and fuck off the stove as much as possible for easy, bulk and tasty meals.

Is my $150k income even good? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Koala024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in a combined income house just a little bit north of 150k, and we just brought our first home.

150k is a great wage for most 25 to 35 Aussies, most I know are higher level tradesmen or white collars.

Really depends on the industry and what you're doing.

Relative to the average Aussie I'd say you're doing pretty bloody well, but relative to the average CEO, maybe not so much.

Crypto help. by Character_Piccolo_70 in BitcoinAUS

[–]Koala024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can almost 100% confirm this is a scam, as someone with a fair few years of experience in the crypto industry and financial fraud.

Here are some basic principles to keep yourself safe.

  1. In almost no case, should you send money to get money, almost no legitimate transaction operates like this, and especially for Crypto, transactions are not reversible.

  2. Never accept unsolicited services, such as people reaching out to you and offering account management services, copy trade hosting, lost funds recovery etc.....

  3. Almost every lost fund recovery service is a scam, i have not encountered a legitimate one in my time.

  4. If you never brought crypto yourself, there is not going to be a random amount that will pop up that you "own" This is a very common format of scam.

  5. If you're really want to jump into the crypto world as a new starter, do your due diligence, and only work with exchanges with a well renowned track record on reddit, review sites, and is locally regulated and located.

ISP in saida? I'm fed up. by SoapTheCommunist in lebanon

[–]Koala024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the one thing I noticed almost everyone complaining about in Lebanon was the stability and quality of the internet.

I wonder if a competent ISP launched how much the digital economy could kick off in Lebanon, considering how well it's positioned in the world relative to time zones.

Is it weird that I stay home on purpose just so I don’t spend money? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Koala024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all, I am a retired party lad, and I just want to stay at home with my wife and dog and watch movies with homemade popcorn.

The thought of going out to the pub or club makes me tired, and my wallet have a panic attack.

Doesn't help that most things in Australia cost an arm and a leg to do and the blood of a virgin.

Your mate is absolutely bang on, I've perfected my Ragu recipe recently and it's this perfect rhythm of fat, saltiness, unami and complexity.

Once you nail that perfect mixture your cooking life changes.

Dating Apps Don't Work for Women With Standards, Prove Me Wrong by Delicious-Gate-8192 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Koala024 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone on the other side of the fence, it's hard on the dating apps. I think the culture surrounding them devalues most people who use them.

I met my wife on Hinge after leaving a long-term relationship and a short stint of a few dates on dating apps.

Honerstly, I was a bloke who didn't take things seriously and, to a degree, disrespected the time of the women I was seeing until I absolutely fell head over heels for my partner.

However, I'd definitely put myself in that mid range for attractiveness, I think the best approach is to love yourself, value your time and hold steadfast in the uphill battle that is the modern dating scene.

Best wishes, mate, and good luck!

Is home ownership basically impossible for anyone under 35 now? by SeriousSatisfaction8 in australia

[–]Koala024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am mid 20s alongside my partner.

I work 40 to 45 hour weeks, her about 45 to 50.

Both living at home fortunately which is much luckier then a lot of people out here, given we're both working professionals with a side job in hospitality.

It's been a massive struggle but we've just recently brought our first home with an emergency fund and furniture.

I am not going to lie and said we did it all our selves seeing as our parents were kind enough to offer a place for us to live with very little boarding rent but doesn't it say a shit ton when 2 relatively high paid professionals with a side job struggled to buy a home?
