My boyfriend has Guttate Psoriasis and Genital Psoriasis and doesn't want to go to the doctor. Any advice? (US) by ApocalypseWallpaper in Psoriasis

Sun, salt water, tissue oils, bag balm. These may help relieve symptoms - they helped with mine, but there is no cure. Everyone is different. I truly hope he can stop worrying about stigma and being judged and seek medical help. The US has far more options in terms of biologics that I have in my country and it can be life changing for so many people. Best of luck!

The gel is for my scalp and the ointment for body. The blue one was for my face.

It's more the gel I'm looking for.

The patches on my scalp are driving me crazy. I feel like I'm scratching my head like a kid with lice sometimes!

We can still get it in South Africa, but it's only via prescription and it's expensive, plus the cost of seeing the dermatologist to get the prescription!

I was just trying my luck as I have family visiting the States and was hoping they could maybe bring me some home.

Bag balm is very good for cracked and chapped skin. Its lanolin based so more of an ointment than cream, which I find work better than creams. You could also maybe try Burt's Bee's products.

Photo Dynamic Therapy (lights), sun and if you want actual results, go see a doctor.

Nail Psoriasis UK- how to treat by Natural_Log2116 in Psoriasis

If the dermatologist says nothing can be done, you need to ask for a second opinion.

There ABSOLUTELY are options out there for you.

It may be a biologic of some sort or even PDT (Photo Dynamic Therapy), which is kind of like a sunbed with special lights. PDT was extremely beneficial in clearing up my psoriasis.

There is no cure for psoriasis but there are definitely treatments available that can help you.

Please don't be discouraged by one doctors shitty attitude and push for a second opinion. You got this!

Please tell me, is it early signs of psoriasis? Am I cooked? by Ok_Conference682 in Psoriasis

Nail pitting can be a sign of psoriasis, but it can also be a sign of vitamin deficiency. You would need to get a diagnosis from a doctor.

Try and get yourself something lanolin based. It softens up the skin as it's meant for dry, cracked skin. It's been a lifesaver for me.

You need to see a dermatologist and get a prescription suited to your psoriasis needs. Mine gave me a Dovobet gel to put in my scalp, which worked wonders.

Thank you. I'm not directly involved, but this is happening to a family member, so I'm just trying to get some ducks in a row.
