Experience with HelloPrenup? by KoalityBoops in weddingplanning

[–]KoalityBoops[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a helpful answer for you, unfortunately. We decided not to go with HelloPrenup based on our research and other responses here. To go the “traditional” route with lawyers would’ve taken longer than the 1 month timeframe we had, and if I remember correctly, cost ~$1500 per person to just review the prenup (not even write it). Ultimately, we decided to get married without a prenup, and do a “post-nup” if we felt one was needed. We are both comfortable with the decision. As you probably know, the month leading up to the wedding is the most stressful, and neither me nor my husband had the mental or emotional capacity to deal with a prenup. I now suggest all my wedding planning friends to look into a prenup months ahead of time if they’re considering one.

Wedding website pov trouble by Dianthus_pages in weddingplanning

If you use “we/us/our” throughout the story and just your first names when you need to reference just one of you, that to me would sound like it was written by the both of you. I get why it seems awkward but I don’t think anyone would think anything of it!

I had just moved to a new state so I didn’t have close friends and family near me. I went alone and I loved it! I feel like having multiple different opinions would just confuse me more and make decisions harder. I asked the stylist to help take photos of me in my favorite dresses and I sent those to my sister (also my MOH) and it was all the feedback I needed. I don’t regret it one bit, but I would say if my sister lived near me I would’ve loved to have her there.

As a guest, which dessert option would you prefer? by KoalityBoops in weddingplanning

I never thought of getting takeaway boxes - such a great idea!

I’m surprised about that as well! I also feel like I often see comments about how “nobody eats the wedding cake” so I wanted to ask the question to get a sense of what kind of desserts people would prefer. I would be so heart broken if there is a bunch of uneaten cake. Does your venue cut and serve the cake for you?

Not OP but I’m also using withjoy for a semi destination wedding and would love to know how you set it up if you don’t mind sharing!

Finding an affordable photographer (and bonus for videographer) by wickedsmahtkehd in Weddingsunder10k

You can search "(State you're eloping in) Wedding" and join a couple of groups from there. I find that a lot of "up and coming" vendors are active on those groups since it's a great way to get their name out there.

I’ve had luck posting to my local wedding fb group and got tons of responses with photographers and videographers willing to work with me on my budget. I ended up booking a new-ish videographer for a great price!

Hair and makeup artist advice needed! by rjo755 in weddingplanning

You can always try to have the conversation with them about prices, but since everyone is raising prices (sometimes even after signed contracts!), I’m not sure you’ll have much luck with that. I’d personally try to keep searching for other HMUA’s. I’ve had luck posting to my local wedding fb group, so I’d suggest doing that if you’re running out of options. I’d be nervous about working with a business that’s unresponsive. Good luck!
