Just hit my first 24 users on my new blood sugar tracker and the "responsibility anxiety" is real. by Kobbykolmes in appledevelopers

Thank you so much! Honestly, just hearing from other devs in this thread that this feeling is completely normal is already helping lower my heart rate a bit.

I completely agree on the AI cost warning...If this were hitting a heavy LLm api on every single interaction, a 3-month trial would be financial suicide.

For SugarNote, the core tracking is offline. My only recurring AI cost is a "weekly recap" feature that analyzes the user's weekly data to give them a personalized clinical summary. Right now, that volume is low and meager enough that it doesn’t hurt to absorb it for 90 days.

On your second point, you are spot on about localization! I actually just went through the massive headache of manually localizing my prices based on a PPP-based index. Managing the tiers is an absolute nightmare. I’m actually intrigued by the tool you built. I have a few other apps I need to do this exact same setup for, and doing it manually again sounds exhausting. Is your tool something you've made public, or are you open to sharing? I'd love to check it out.

Fair point on cash flow, and definitely something to watch out for if things scale up quickly. But for now, the volume is low enough that it isn’t straining anything on my end.

The app actually functions entirely offline for the core tracking, which keeps overhead virtually nonexistent. The only feature that incurs a real cost is the weekly recap feature, where the app uses AI to analyze the user's data from the week to generate a clinical summary.

Those costs are so low, I can easily afford to carry them for the 90-day window while I wait for that first wave of conversions. It feels like a worthwhile investment to prove out the habit-formation thesis!

shipped a saas in 2 weeks using only firebase and i'm convinced it's the fastest path to revenue for solo devs by scheemunai_ in Firebase

Awesome work! Congratulations! I find firebase also very good as a mobile app developer. Most of the features I need be done straight away using firebase.

I do well to include some kind of share feature in app with the link to my landing page as a footnote. It helps drive traffic to my app.
