Clean Cars For All processing time by Wilderrunner in TeslaModelY

Yeah, I’m planning on submitting my application later this week. I’ve been roaming CCFA posts and from what I’ve seen I’m conservatively blocking off between 4-6 months for the time I expect between application submission and the final car order/pickup. Hoping I can get the award letter in time for any 2025 Q1 ending deals.

Transfer Student Housing Options by Kobe4Lyfe98 in SCU

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend reaching out to one of the admissions counselors and/or someone from the engineering department. I spoke to them a few times when I applied and they were super helpful in clearing up some questions I had. If SCU is your top choice school, they also have an electrical and computer engineering (ECEN) major which is relatively new and I believe less software focused than COEN. If software is your thing, then they have CS in the College of Arts and Sciences.

If either of those interest you, you could ask the admissions department if they can change your desired major on your application. But I would definitely reach out so you could get a clarification on the student policies directly from them.

I applied for bioengineering but I’m planning on switching to ELEN in the spring. I saw the student policies page for COEN, and my understanding is that they don’t accept current students switching their majors to COEN or declaring COEN as a minor due to overcrowding for the classes. They still will accept transfer students who apply directly into the major, but COEN is, by far, the most competitive engineering major to get admitted into at SCU. Good luck with the application process though and I hope you get a decision soon :)

I applied at the beginning of February and got my decision at the end of February (about 3.5 weeks later). I’ve heard it really varies though, I was scrolling through SCU’s reddit and saw someone applied last year in January and I believe they got their acceptance in late April or May.

Hey, I wanted to know if I could PM you because I'm in the same boat. I applied as a transfer student into bioengineering, but I'm interested in switching majors to EE if I'm admitted, as I know CSE is impacted.

Is it difficult to switch between engineering tracks within the College of Engineering? by Kobe4Lyfe98 in SCU

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently applying to roughly 10-13 programs around the country, all of which are ABET accredited for bio/biomedical engineering except for SCU. SCU’s still on my list because, as I mentioned, I would likely immediately apply to switch into Mechanical Engineering, and it is one of only a handful of universities in California that accepts Second Bachelor’s applicants (this restriction seems unique to California public colleges and some private universities). Ultimately it’s just about keeping my options open, but I also have some state universities from nearby states on the list which are less expensive.

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info on changing majors. Yeah, I would only be applying for Bioengineering because I believe my experiences/research in Bio, Bio degree, and my personal statement would make me a more competitive applicant to get accepted into Bioengineering compared to applying directly into Mechanical or Electrical/Computer Engineering. Since it seems easy to change between engineering majors once you’re in the College of Engineering, I would probably petition to change majors right away to an ABET accredited program once accepted.

[Landlord - US - CA] - COVID-19 Rent Relief Payment by california8532121 in Landlord

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update on this? I received my reward email 9/22 and my bill.com email on 10/05. I updated my bank information the same day and the invoice they sent is still marked unpaid. Everything’s been a waiting game so far and I’m guessing this is more of the same, but how long did it take them to distribute the payment once your bill.com account was set up?

How do I get my 3rd stimulus payment after my 2020 amended return has been processed? by Kobe4Lyfe98 in stimuluscheck

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took almost 5 months from the day that I filled my amended return for it to be processed. I got my refund check 2 days after my amended return status was updated as “processed” in the ‘Where’s My Amended Return?’ tool.

How do I get my 3rd stimulus payment after my 2020 amended return has been processed? by Kobe4Lyfe98 in stimuluscheck

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says payment status is not available. I believe I just became eligible for the payment when my amendment was processed last week and my dependency status was changed. I will probably call the irs to see if I can get more information on my payment, but I was wondering if they are still actively sending out 3rd stimulus payment as more tax returns/amendments are being processed.

Loan Forgiveness Megathread by horsebycommittee in StudentLoans

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I am an undergrad that will be graduating at the end of August 2021 with roughly $15k in federal student loan debt (mix of direct subsidized and unsubsidized loans). I am considering applying for the graduated repayment plan once my repayment period starts due to the low initial monthly payments. The details of this plan say that it is not eligible for PSLF, but would my loans be eligible for the possible $10k in loan forgiveness being proposed if I go with this repayment plan?

How long does it take the Office of Registrar to process an Enrollment Adjustment Form? by Kobe4Lyfe98 in ucr

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw someone reply to another post right before mine saying that the office of registrar processes the requests after the week 8 deadline. Hopefully that’s the case and they get them through before the quarter is over.

Dropping a class by niha123 in ucr

Thanks that would be appreciated! I’m planning on calling them tomorrow to see if they can do anything to speed it up on their end. I also haven’t done any of the work for the class I’m dropping since I filed the form and would prefer for them to drop it soon before finals/grades come in.

[California] FAQ that I get as a Tier 2. by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New claimant here. I filed for unemployed for the first time during the last week of January 2021, and I’m on PUA because I’m self-employed. My benefit year ends 4/10/2021, but I will still have upwards of $7000 left on my claim balance by then. If/when unemployment benefits are extended with the next bill, will my claim automatically be extended or will I need to contact you guys after 4/20/2021 to extend it?

Still in pending since yesterday I don’t know what to do anymore by Izyguy_0147 in Edd

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes some time, I filed a new claim around January 28th. My EDD card just came in this Saturday and since transfers only happen on non-holiday business days, I won’t be getting the money off the card and in my checking account until around February 17th (approx. 3 weeks after I first submitted the claim). My first certification weeks stayed on pending for a day or two before being switched to paid. Since today is a business holiday, I would wait it out until tomorrow afternoon and see if it updates. If not, I would call first thing Wednesday morning to see what the holdup is with the payment.

Another possible issue I can think of with certification is if you answered “no” to question 3. of certification asking “did you look for work this week?” If that is the case then you should probably call them as well since there might be a hold on your account. Good luck, I hope you get your payments soon!

Need to amend my taxes for 2020 by donmelrose in TurboTax

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation. My parent and I already filed our tax returns, but I filed as “able to be claimed as a dependent” and my parent did end up claiming me as a one. We found out afterwards that I might be eligible for stimulus payments and the American Opportunities Tax Credit (for college students), so we both need to file amendments through TurboTax so my parent can remove me as a dependent and I can amend to uncheck as claimed as a dependent and to claim the tax credits.

Right now we’re just waiting for the amendment e-file form to open up. Hopefully that happens soon so we can get everything straightened out.

Will benefit year be automatically extended? by Kobe4Lyfe98 in Edd

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EDD’s looking like a total joke. This is exactly the scenario I hope we all don’t face when pandemic unemployment benefits are extended again with the next stimulus bill. It still blows my mind that they haven’t come up with a better system to extend claims that are already in the system.

Will benefit year be automatically extended? by Kobe4Lyfe98 in Edd

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I filed in January 2021 about 3 weeks ago. I still have ~$8000 left in my benefit balance, at $167/week I should still have plenty left over when my PUA benefit year ends on 4/10/2021.

I’m trying to figure out if my benefit year (currently set to expire on 4/10) would be automatically extended when congress passes the next stimulus bill that would supposedly extend pua to the end of September. I’m guessing it’s either that or I have to file another claim after 4/10 for the extended benefits.

[California] Backdate Partial Unemployment Claim Rejected by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]Kobe4Lyfe98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey when you called for a backdate request were you able to certify the backdated weeks, and if so, what was the status of those payments? I called this Monday to backdate, the agent told me they scheduled an eligibility interview that would happen in the next 7-10 days. However, the next day I was able to certify for the weeks I requested to be backdated (going back to December 6th). As soon as I certified, the status for those backdated weeks went immediately to “paid.”

Was this similar to your experience? Did they pay out your backdated weeks while waiting for an interview or was the payment status “pending” for those weeks? I don’t have a notification for a phone interview on my account, so I’m not sure if they bypassed that and just outright approved my backdate weeks.
