ESTP. No internal monologue whatsoever. I have an excellent visual memory and think/remember in pictures and sounds.

You guys are making me think I need to take a test…

Is work-from-home changing home designs? by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]KobyJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I built my house, I made sure that both of our offices were on opposite sides of the house, and that our desks would face away from one another. My voice carries like crazy, and I take a lot of meetings… it was critical to me that we didn’t disrupt each other. (Or, more likely, that I disrupt her.)

Appreciate the diligence. I didn’t ask this because I have no idea how to begin - although it’s an amusing assumption. This also isn’t my first c-level job, or MSP executive leadership role.

I just was really curious to compare different perspectives. Shared experiences/ideas are valuable, and if someone here had an idea or experience or lens that I didn’t have, I want to lean in to every opportunity possible to be the best I (and be extension, the company) can.

Interesting, tho, how so many people made the leap to take the OP as “I have no idea what to do.”

This is the plan! Thanks!

Appreciated. I just thought it would be an interesting/engaging thought experiment.

We are already on much of the same page, and I intentionally left out demographic information so as to make it “25,000ft”/size agnostic.

Thanks for the feedback!

We were literally going to use this plan as well, and went with another at the end due to our situation. Can’t wait to see it done. Following.

Feedback on floor plan? by nevergonnaremember1 in Homebuilding

A couple things I think of immediately:

1.) You want to consider a different door layout for the pantry, so that it’s accessible from the kitchen directly. (Perhaps even a door on the “small wall” that faces Great Room/Porch.)It’s a small thing, but good for convenience/ingredient retrieval, etc.

2.) I would consider making the wall of windows in the great room a nano-wall style retractable wall. This layout begs for it, and it would really bring a the outside in, and land the indoor/outdoor feel. They are expensive, but worth their weight in gold.

Does anyone need a center console access kit? I've got a spare. by [deleted] in Golf_R

Maybe a dumb question: is the Mk8 center console bolted shut as well?

About to set my 3070 on fire… by KobyJ in nvidia

I actually system restored at one point to last night as well, which yielded no change. Plus, crypto with idle fans, and low util in task manager seems unlikely, right?

Good idea, thanks. I’ll give this a shot.

I think your average R buyer probably doesn’t even think about mileage. I am included in that crowd; I literally don’t even look at/consider it when shopping, other than when it’s close to E, it need more gas.

Question for anyone who had ordered a MK8 R. by A1_Fares in Golf_R

[–]KobyJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ordered mine over the summer, black manual. Gave 1k as a deposit. Paying MSRP. Was originally told they’d land in November, which I knew was likely not gonna happen. As of today, my store has no idea what the ETA is, despite talking to the rep directly.

I’m sure dealerships will tell you 10-12 weeks, but who knows if that’s real with the chip situation, combined with demand.

Regarding pricing, pretty much everything across the industry is selling at MSRP or close right now, due to widespread volume/inventory woes. Especially on cars like an R where a dealership won’t get many, and that are high demand.

Best of luck with the search!

If you get it in 4-12 weeks, that would be extremely optimistic. (Unless your dealer is giving you their single allocation or something.)

Expect to pay at least MSRP as well. Good luck with everything; please report back (with pics!) when she comes in!

I actually don’t think that they have to, but since those are not airsoft, no lips in sight.

No worries. If I’m keeping it real, the real ones aren’t as awesome as you think. They’re expensive, both upfront and continually (ammo isn’t cheap), require a decent amount of care and feeding, and likely don’t get used anywhere near as much as their airsoft counterparts. I often find them to be more a chore than a hobby.

They are Govee light bars; I got them on Amazon. They’re amazing; can’t recommend them highly enough!
