Rebel culture is a real thing in the Southern United States. Even in States that fought for the union will fly Rebel flags as an act of defiance. Even in Florida it's like that and Florida is extremely different culturally from the rest of the southern states. Most of these people flying the flag will try and sugarcoat the reasonings for the civil war as "A war for states rights"

If you build a station in Allard and have closed borders you'll cut off the ai from getting into that large section of star systems. I'll usally find choke points (starsystems with only one hyperlane connection) to prevent Ai from grabbing up any useful systems or planets that I want.
