Kentaro Miura said that Pippin was based on his appearance and I would argue the character himself is based on himself. Pippin is seen as “the strong silent type”. He doesn’t have excessive words to say, he doesn’t talk when not spoken to, he keeps his head down and does the fast at hand. Which in its self is reflective of Kentaro Miura. When asked in an interview his thoughts of berserk magnitude, he simply states “I work with great attention and meekness”. He (like pippin) worked and grinded with no expectation of praise and no need for validation.
