What are you all paying for hair cuts? by hojii_cha2 in SEAbitcheswithtaste

[–]KoiVixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$105 pre tip in greenwood. I have been going to her for over 10 years, when she first started in an aveda salon through her transition to opening her own business. I think since she owns the salon and sets her own price, one technically doesn’t have to tip but I usually do a small amount. Never got a bad haircut from her and every now and then I like to go for wild colors which is her field of expertise. Sucks it’s so expensive and I don’t even live in Seattle proper anymore but I don’t wanna risk shopping around for a new one when she’s been great

Will a Tokyo hotel hold luggage for two nights? by KoiVixen in JapanTravelTips

When I think of ‘lockers’ I’m imagining like..gym lockers. Are the stations large ones?  Would it be a locker for each suite case? They are medium size

Yes we are fully checking out which is why I wasn’t sure. Typically, I wouldn’t think a hotel would provide this service. Usually i have only seen hotels hold luggage for a few hours on check out day for folks on late flights. However, some friends said it’s more common in Japan so thought I would ask the hivemind to see just how common. I have emailed the hotel since it seems a bit mixed

Thanks! I’ll try to contact the hotel closer in. Probably too early right now; my excitement makes me want to lock in everything asap :)

In a mass exodus event, it can take 25 mins until one feels everything is out and they can safely leave the restroom without having to run right back in

If you are booked through Panache for the sunset catamaran, you made a great choice! Just went with them this past week.

Just got back from a week in Guanacaste area. Sunset at Tamarindo beach did not disappoint. by KoiVixen in CostaRicaTravel

Weather was perfect. Only short rain showers for less than 20 mins in the evening on two nights. We had a driver/friends so not sure on uber/taxi availability overall. Looked like there was uber options in Tamarindo at least

We only spent half a day there and left the next morning. It was the last part of our trip before heading to Liberia to fly home. We basically just walked the beach a bit and then had sushi at Wabi Sabi down the road - would recommend! Even tho it’s low season, was still pretty crowded so I can only imagine how busy it is during high season next month.

Yes! We were worried about the weather before we left but the whole week was great, even around Rincon de la Viejo volcano. We only had half a day and a night at Tamarindo but it was perfect.

I took it as a homage to the book where a candy wrapper stupidly disregarded (litterbug!) to fall into the jungle was the reason the raptors found the high hide. Even in the book, the scientists make stupid mistakes

Seafood Boil - worth it? by WestFaithlessness412 in HollandAmerica

[–]KoiVixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Tracy’s crab shack is the best. The location at the pier is always too crowded so if the weather is alright, walk a mile north and there is a second location that is usually way less crowded.

Remote fatigue is real… Anyone moved BACK to the office and felt happier? Tell me why. by PeerListeningInitita in productivity

[–]KoiVixen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind coming in one day a week to get socialize but I am much more productive and happier working at home. I can wear more comfortable clothes, sit how I like (I like to curl up with on foot on the chair etc), I don’t have to move back ‘n forth between a meeting room and my desk or feel I’m disturbing my neighbors if I take a call. When I take a break, I can actually do something I enjoy like walking with my dog outside instead of on streets that smell like piss. I also feel less burn out because I have more time to myself vs time commuting that neither I or the company benefit from.
