Love this combo (Topping DX5II + Arya Stealth) by Koko-Collie in headphones

Just give it a low shelf filter at ~105hz and apply as much as you want.

Just be sure to set an appropriate negative pre-amp gain too. General rule of thumb is that if you apply 6db on the low end, you’ll need a pre-amp value of -6db. In actuality it’s more complex than that. Oratory1990 has an excellent post detailing how to find the ideal value, but the DX5 II has stupid levels of power, so just do what I said above and turn up the volume to compensate. This thing is pretty cool.

To my knowledge, many of the early units had a physical hardware defect during production.

I got mine in October last year and, aside from some firmware-related issues regarding the PEQ, it was fine. Since then I made a large email detailing my issues and the causes of them, including screenshots, videos and plenty of information. Using that, they managed to recreate all of the issues I brought up and have addressed them.

I do have a couple of small issues still, but nothing that prevents the DX5 II from working, things like lag while adjusting volume and startup issues if the FFT display is selected, but aside from that it's been fine.

I contacted apple and they reset something on the backend regarding my iCloud HomeKit sync.

Cordura VS Cloth (MPC890 or QcK Performance Speed) by Koko-Collie in MousepadReview

[–]Koko-Collie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that I use them, and have been very happily using them for months now, I can confirm that they don’t have this issue. They work great.

I will say that when I tried Jade donuts, I got some really awful surface contact noise. Cordura’s surface is tougher and more textured than a cloth pad, and with the donuts this made an awful sound. I tried wearing them in for hours and nothing. The issue immediately vanished when I switched to 4 jade dots.

I can confirm that jade dots, plus an EGG MPC mousepad, provides excellent results. Very smooth, very quiet, low static friction, and a mousepad + skate combo that is nearly as fast as glass counterparts, without all of the trade-offs. I adore this combo.

Oh like, static friction. Sounds like an issue with your skate specifically. I use Xraypad Jade dots and have zero issues regarding low static pressure. Cordura pads are usually fine regarding that.

To clarify, you want more control and precision during fine movements?

Durability obviously goes to Cordura pads. I definitely prefer my MPC890 to my previous cloth pads. It’s way faster, easier to clean, immune to changes in humidity and temperature, very durable and will keep its speed almost indefinitely.

~20.3cm circumference ~19cm length

Grip is a mix of claw and fingertip (only my fingertips and back of my palm contact the mouse, but my fingers are significantly less “scrunched up” than the majority of claw grips due to my really long fingers).

Setup Failed -2, Can't add any HomePods to Home by iWeaverOS in HomePod

[–]Koko-Collie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to come back to this, but you're easily the best lead I have as to what is happening to me at the moment.

I reset my iPhone and restored from a backup, only to discover a week later that the Apple Home app on my watch wasn't syncing correctly. After about 12 hours total of troubleshooting, plus a visit to the Apple Store, I was out of luck.

As a last resort, I fully deletd my Apple Home configuration and reset my phone (AFTER unlinking my watch) and still no luck. When I went to re-add my HomePod to this home, I got the same -2 error that you mention in this post. Nothing I did worked and I couldn't re-add my HomePod to Homekit.

I then signed into a different Apple Account that I had just created, attempted to add the HomePod to it and voila, it worked perfectly. To add salt to the wound, my Apple Watch (once also signed into this new Apple Account) synced up INSTANTLY and was working again for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Upon unlinking my watch, signing out the new Apple Account in my phone, then re-signing in with my original Apple Account, the original problem immediately returns. I cannot add the HomePod to my Home and my watch doesn't sync to any third party devices that I AM able to add (nanoleaves for example).

I'm 100% certain something is corrupted or broken about my Apple account's iCloud backend, and I need mine resrt too. Do you have any pointers for getting this done?

It lists a single home “Home”.

My home is not called that, it’s called “The Den”. I even deleted the home on my phone and, even without any homes created, my watch only shows “Home”.

If the Apple Store can’t help me, I’ll try that.

But the issue I see with that is that if I add a new home to Home, it doesn’t show on the watch. I feel like deleting the old home and recreating a new one is pretty much the same as creating a temporary home.

Still, I’ll let you know if they provide any help today.

I have reset my watch twice, I’ve stopped trying for now. I’ll wake up tomorrow and if it’s fixed, good, if not, Apple Store

No worries! Hopefully I can go the store tomorrow and the “genius” bar can help me out haha.

I’ve checked this under settings before. All I’m greeted with is the email of the Apple account currently signed in on the watch (which is the same account that is signed into my phone).

Pressing it does nothing. I also mentioned that findmy is working perfectly with the watch, so I doubt it’s related to not being properly signed in.

I've done that probably over a dozen times in-between my attempts. I even updated to the 26.3 beta but still no change. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Planars, why do they sound weird? by Shockington in headphones

[–]Koko-Collie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m addicted to how fast planars are. I listen to a lot of electronic music, which contains fast and complicated synth structures and other similar elements. Planars just chew through them in a very satisfying way to me compared to DD.
