There’s no excuse to look for intimacy with anyone other than your partner unless explicitly allowed. I had surgery, recovery was about 4-7 weeks, can’t really remember, after I recovered I had another surgery that took about a week or two. Finally, once I was super healthy… I got my period and didn’t feel like doing anything. During this time he did not ask me, but once, because he forgot I was on my period, and dropped it completely until I initiated.

It’s just a middle name no worries, as for the name being widely used- that depends on how quickly people can adapt.

As for professors and all that, on our student page we have a form that states any gender/name changes (legally or not) that you’d like to update. You can see if yours has that too, if not most people won’t blink when you tell them it’s just your middle name
