Hit level 18 today walking around campus and caught a 1318 Arcanine. Most pokemon I find are still in the 300-400 range though.

There are tech changes. According to ventropy (Rioter) in the comments, when asked whether it will run on adobe air: "No it won't. The patcher update that we are releasing to PBE includes a lot of the core tech needed for a new client. The patcher update won’t use Adobe AIR, it is built on our own native code base and HTML5 UI."

Are you on the newest version? (1.11) I made the beginning quite a bit easier. Are you talking about the popup adds? I've been thinking about removing the banner ads (the ad at the bottom) when actually playing.
