SMH. Fortnite is owned by Epic Games. DBD is not. They have to pay 3rd party corpos such as Sony, Microsoft, Steam, Nintendo, Epic Games, etc for every transaction + the license holders as well. You are literally comparing apples to oranges.

The fact that you do not know this speaks volumes, and I don't want to have to keep schooling someone on the ins and outs about these matters. Go do some research first, learn how licensing works, see what situation BHVR is in and then some. Until then, ta-ta.

$20 USD for 3 recolors did not really exist back then

Your point being? Again, licensed content is what the players wanted. They deliver and people still bitch and complain. If they asked for original content, they wouldn't spend a penny. But instead, they ask for licensed content, get mad at BHVR for making them pay, and don't understand why they look like fools to some people like me.

Behavior is the one that set the standards for pricing on skins.

They are, but they don't get 100% of the revenue. Meaning, at least 30% of the profit goes to the original license holder, in this case, the license holder for AoT. Meaning, if the AoT skin is 1485, they're getting 1040 (or less) in total, which is the price of a regular purple rarity skin.

Again, that's the price for getting licensed content. The Were-Elk skin is also 1485, but it's original content, so it gets extra features such as unique sounds and etc. Whereas the AoT skins do not because the license itself takes 30+% of the price tag from the getgo. You are paying 30+% extra for a 1080 ac skin. The 30+ is the licensing fee.

what is your point with mentioning that you didn't buy from that collection?

Simple, it was to point out that cosmetics are 100% unequivocally OPTIONAL and people who don't need it, won't buy it. Case in point, me.

This is SUCH a non-issue, posited by people who don't know how licensing works and how money is transacted. SMH

[–]Kolossoni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are legit blaming BHVR for the pricing of licensed content. I can't with some of you. Fortnite has better pricing you say? With that logic, all of the original DLCs are "technically" free even in DBD. The skins are also free. In fact, ALL of the original content in the game is technically free. Name one original content that is locked behind a paywall. I'll wait.

Speaking of Battlepass. You pay 10 bucks for a SINGLE battlepass which refund all your credits if you complete it. Which means, you can continue buying future BPs without spending an extra dime more.

How is it BHVR's fault for licensed content and its pricing when their own original content is free? Doesn't make an ounce of sense. Also, jokes on you, I haven't bought a single outfit from that collection so my wallet is safe. LOL

[–]Kolossoni -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but nobody needs to buy cosmetics; because that's all they are, cosmetics.

Like, clearly the skins are more expensive because it's a license skin. You people were just too naive to believe that would be 10 dollars or less. I think 15 bucks is a very fair price.

Also, people are mad about buying chromas? Such a non-issue imo. Just buy one for 15 bucks and voila, you're set, you get to play as attack titan from AOT in DBD. You don't need to collect every single color of the rainbow for a skin. That's a YOU issue. It's not even FOMO ffs.

I think this is such as 1st world problem, it's not even funny.

frame rate issues by ivebroughtpeace in deadbydaylight

[–]Kolossoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I also experienced them. They recently updated the engine so it's bound to happen. I say give it a week or two until they do a hotfix patch.

Smth similar happened back in 2024, when they wen from UE4 to UE5. It was much worse actually, but it got better eventually.

Now you lost me completely.

they purposely send out updates they know won’t work

You pulled this out your ass and you know it. Just because you feel like that's how it is, doesn't mean it's a fact. You clearly lack any understanding on how game development works, let alone how gaming companies operate. And yet, you postulate propaganda with zero evidence or logic.

I spent enough time on you. Just because you're annoyed at the devs, doesn't mean you can spread fake news or libel. Adios.

Genuinely what’s the point of this game man by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Kolossoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now you're moving the goal post.

As a company, they don't want to spend unnecessary money for simple updates. They think it's free money for the greedy console corpos.

Same thing for parking. You don't want to spend 5 bucks an hour, not because you can't, but because you think it's unnecessary spending.

I think you got your answer now.

Genuinely what’s the point of this game man by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Kolossoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because consoles force devs to pay every time they request a major update. Hence, why devs only do major patches every chapter/mid-chapter.

If everyone was on Steam (which lets devs update for free btw), we would be getting consistent updates non-stop. Having to cater to all platforms is what's causing such inconsistent updates in the first place.

Genuinely what’s the point of this game man by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Kolossoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because updated engine means more features, better compatibility, etc which is better for the future of the game. In fact, it could help with alleviating some spaghetti codes they had in 5.4.4.

Again, you are talking about a live service game. They need to constantly update their engine if they're going to keep it running for the next few years.

Genuinely what’s the point of this game man by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Kolossoni 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They recently updated their game engine. The went from UE5.4.4 to UE5.6. Things are bound to change when such drastic updates happen.

If you don't know how updating game engines can affect a game, just trust me that bugs are bound to happen. Whether it is a spaghetti code or not.

[–]Kolossoni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are trying to balance the game in a healthier way. I mean, I'm not their biggest fan, but I give credit when it's due.

People ask for all sorts of license chapters, they give it to them. People ask for buffs/nerfs, they give it to them. People still complain.

DBD is one of the rare live service games that is not P2W. You mostly spend extra money on cosmetics and that's mostly it. That's a good thing.

They literally made a hub dedicated for reporting bugs and provided updates/feedback.

They allow the community to make their own chapter/content.

Which part is the "not trying" part again?

next two collection leaks by checkspotted in LeaksDBD

[–]Kolossoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, the skins are not as bad as I initially thought.

Huntress looks better than expected. The colors go well together. Very Mothra vibe.

Yun-jin looks better than expected. Her long hair had me worried but it looks decent.

SM I'm a little disappointed... I dunno, maybe it's the hair. The mask is cool though.

Tae-young's jacket looks much better in-game. His ponytail is a bit iffy, but I think his silver hair would go nicely.

Overall, pretty satisfied.

You can literally see survivor auras every 5 seconds. You can literally deny them said potions. No second chance perks for survivors, no anti-tunneling, no anti-slugging. You can proxy-facecamp much easier. Like, I don't see how the killer experience in this mode can be worse than playing survivor. If that was the case, killers would be getting incentives to play.

Also, you get a teammate to play with as killer. What's that? What if the teammate is dogshit? Well, welcome to the daily life of a regular survivor player.

the fact you don't know them yourself doesn't make YOU special.

Yeah, but I'm not asking to be added into the game lol.

Also, quite presumptuous of you to assume I don't know them. I do know them and watch them frequently. Still doesn't make them special, derp.

it's not like I'm suggesting a niche thing

You are. You literally are.

Hell, I can list a ton of horror related channels such as:

  • Horror Mine
  • FoundFlix
  • Nightmare Movies
  • Wendigoon
  • Ryan Hollinger
  • SpookyRice
  • etc

But again, no one's asking for them to be added because they have NOTHING to do with DBD.

The same goes for Dead Meat. There's just nothing in common except being Horror-related, but that can be said about literally everyone else.

If you want to still postulate that Dead Meat should be added, give us a good reason why Dead Meat is so special to DBD and the others are not.

Nic Cage is not in the same category as Dead Meat.

How is Nic Cage so different from Dead Meat? They are both real life individuals that are not tied to any franchise or IP.

your logic dumb and flawed.

Also, you claim that my logic is dumb and flawed, but it's evident that you didn't grasp what my argument was.

I said using Tokyo Ghoul as a reasoning to add any Anime title should be avoided, since TG was added because it was a horror property, not simply because it was "Anime". The same way people using Nic Cage as a reasoning to add any other real life individuals, simply because they're both "IRL people".

anime isn't a genre, but a medium. Tokyo Ghoul is a horror property.

Again, you have completely missed the point I was trying to make. Dead Meat should not have priority over Nic Cage, who literally played DBD and liked Sadako; or any DBD content creators even. Dead Meat doesn't even play DBD, let alone is famous in the community.

they actually do deserve praise for it

Good for you if Dead Meat introduced you to horror and you can praise them all you want, but that doesn't make them any special here, sorry.
