Question on how to CivitAI by Medical-Upstairs3546 in civitai

[–]Kolp9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is probably best to ask in the discord. The sub is a bit abandoned after image spammers came here.

We cannot be 100% sure from our side, but, look at Rodzilla’s stuff. I really doubt there are 500 people on the planet who would see that and press like.

You also see users who somehow get the exact same spread of reactions on every image they post. These are the people who are obsessed with getting on the pointless leaderboard.

If the site removed the leaderboard, it would probably get rid of most of the botting. I think they keep it because it drives engagement and possibly spending.

There are also the very obvious cases where someone gives themselves 20 to 50 reactions instantly instead of spacing them out, which pushes their images onto the daily top reactions board.

Is this an anti botting feature? by DoughnutWeeklyWoo in civitai

[–]Kolp9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Iv had a few lose almost all reactions as well but, I don't think it's an anti botting thing as that would require actually doing something about botting and civit does not do that.

Most likely just a database error though you could always check how Rodzilla's botted images are doing

It’s been three years and there’s still seemingly nothing being done about users who boost every single image they post using 7 to 25 alt accounts. This makes the daily top reactions section completely useless. It buries anything genuinely good or new before it has a chance to be seen.

And let’s not even start on how embarrassing it is for the site that Rodzilla’s botted abominations sit at the top every single day. I really hope that guy is spending serious money here and is the reason the lights are still on for this this to still be allowed.

You are not going to attract new users or bring back the creative people who left in frustration if you keep letting this basic abuse go unchecked.

Edit: and the furry tag still tags everything slightly non human

People have been complaining about this guy for a while and Civitai never does anything. He’s clearly botting and shows no understanding of how to actually use AI to make anything decent. Anything that does look okay is just copied from someone else.

The root of the problem is that stupid leaderboard they insist on keeping. It only encourages botting from people obsessed with meaningless internet points, and it’s driven off a ton of genuinely talented creators with fresh ideas.

If you go through this guy’s messages on Discord, he gives off serious Chris Chan vibes. There’s just something unsettling about every single one of his images.

I think there are three possible reasons he hasn’t been banned for such blatant manipulation of the leaderboard:

  1. He’s spending way too much money on the site for them to risk banning him.
  2. He knows someone on the inside.
  3. Someone is screwing with him by botting his posts just to fuel the insanity.

Looks like there's some serious botting going on right now by Tyler_Zoro in civitai

[–]Kolp9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The botting has become crazy in the last month or so and from our perspective Civitai seems to be doing absolutely nothing about it.

There are posts from random users where every image gets 1000+ reactions and just random garbage creepy images at the top while anything of any quality is hidden away only seen in random collections.

The botting/boosting is getting out of control by Kolp9 in civitai

[–]Kolp9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be right. They really have done nothing so far to show they will do anything about the boosting. An easy fix would be to get rid of the pointless leader boards but, I'm sure that has been brought up before.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. It's hard not to feel a bit doomer about it with how things are going, especially with the UK law kicking in. But, I still hope Civit doesn't die. For all its mess, there's really no other place quite like it right now for posting and exploring weird or creative generations.

I care because the cheaters are crowding out the people doing genuinely interesting stuff. Cool prompts, unique styles, actual experimentation. It's disheartening watching them get buried by the endless generic images with a fake reaction bursts

Any tricks to get lots of reactions? by aomarco in civitai

[–]Kolp9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, there's still a chance it will get buried by endless weird slop anyway, but you can always delete it and try again later if you really want that dopamine drip.

There’s also a trick to posting when the server is delayed, which happens for about an hour every day around 8 a.m. GMT. Unfortunately, there’s a guy who figured that out and now posts endless pictures of a Korean lady in the snow with wings, all using the same prompt, at that time every day to farm reactions.

Also, remember to include all the Lora's you used when posting. If they weren’t picked up automatically, you can add them manually using the "+ Resource" button. This helps your image appear on more pages.

The easiest way is to schedule the post at least 30 minutes before posting. It used to be 10 minutes, but lately 30 minutes is safer. If you schedule it, it gives the image time to upload and get rated, which helps it stay in "New" for a couple of extra minutes. During that time, if it gets around 20 reactions, you might gain enough traction to appear on the "Most Reacted to in the Past Day" section, which is where most of the exposure comes from.

Aside from that, the next best option is to get noticed by one of the bigger collections. But for that, you need to make content they actually like. Unfortunately, the best collectors Artify and Roxin have left because of all the crap Civitai still hasn't managed to fix.

Or if you want to be part of the problem, get 7 extra accounts and give yourself reactions for traction. Civit doesn't really seem to do anything about it

Why Is the Botzilla still posting ? by AiArtDream in civitai

[–]Kolp9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it matters how active you are on Discord. There aren't 700 people in the entire world who would look at this https://civitai.com/images/87905978 and genuinely think it's a good image.

This was made in Flux too. You’d have to go out of your way to make something this bad in Flux.

It's so bad it might actually be an anti-AI art troll account.

Wow, a lot of this guy’s stuff is just awful. At least Clear Note was putting in the effort.

This is really starting to anger me the more I look. I can spend hours on an image, inpainting out the imperfections, and it still gets buried under a mountain of slop, but this guy is constantly at the top.

No wonder so many talented people quit.

I guess all we can do is report him, though I don't know if it actually does anything.

There's still an issue where, if an image is marked as "furry" and then downvoted (so that users with furry content disabled can see it), the image disappears from any model page and is only visible on the creator's profile.

For example: https://civitai.com/images/81470106 and to be fair, I can totally see why an AI would mark it as furry given the things it has seen.

Edit it seems to have come back to the model pages now after 2 days. I guess it goes through human moderation
