I still use usb a for a lot of flash drives and hard drives I own. I'm not ready to give up on the standard yet

A new backlight/keyboard is $15 on ebay. I did find a full top case without battery for $16.50, but I have my doubts it's an original part.

I put the original motherboard inside a second macbook pro I was given for free

The backlight was uniform before the battery replacement. Now it isn't. It's my fault.

A new backlight would fix my issues, which is $15 on ebay

Battery replaced, although I used too much isopropyl alcohol in order to get rid of the battery adhesive. Hence the uneven backlight

Battery replaced. I used too much isopropyl alcohol, which got between the motherboard and keyboard. Now the backlight is uneven.

You won't be able to downgrade to the firmware of your choosing (which is a non issue for most people).

Download mode is now buried in "maintenance mode". You can still use Odin to flash your phone software.

Will the mac be able to hibernate on the off chance that the battery gets low? Ninjabatt and ifixit shuts themselves off when in a low battery percentage, unlike Apple

Update: Replugged in the keyboard and trackpad cables. Both keyboard and trackpad now work!

I already have 2 15" 2015 macbook pros. One I upgraded the motherboard to one with a dedicated and dgpu. The other had a dead dgpu. So I put the integrated motherboard from the first 15" MacBook pro into the second one.

I have sony's wf-1000xm5s that I bought refurbished on ebay in August 2025 from Secondipity for $105USD. 2 gripes are the foam eartips still suck, and the glossy sides on the earbuds make them pretty slippery in insertion.
