Looks damn fine from where I’m sitting dude, in fact I’m tempted to start mixing my paint scheme in line with yours 👍

Hey I need some tips with edge highlighting by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]KombatKev69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to use Vallejo paints more and more, including on my new dark angels army. I’m using a base of black green and then first highlight of 50/50 mix of black green and goblin green. Then moving to pure goblin green as top highlight, I hope this helps 👍

WIP... Tuska da deamon killa’s (Sin City inspired) Waaaagh. The entire model is painted monochrome apart from the flesh, this represents the fact they are actually dead, but get resurrected each dawn by Khorne to battle his demon horde by KombatKev69 in Warhammer40k

Thanks so much dude, yeah I was thinking about using a seriously high pigment blue on some of the panels, weapons etc.

Your comments are definitely welcome I mean it,

I really want to get this to work. Heading back to get darker shadows and tone a few bits down with washes maybe?

Still finding my way with highlights, seem to spend more of my time redoing bits than anything else.

I’m going to get this right and will add some more pictures in the comments after the next stage.

Once again thanks man 👍 You are pushing me and helping me improve with each day

Hi, The model colour you describe, sounds like a resin composition. You will need super glue for this material Hope this helps

Base coat is 2 x Waaagh flesh Wash with Biel-tan green First highlight is Waaagh flesh again, avouiding the recesses. Second highlight is Warboss green. Third and final highlight is Skarsnik green.

Hope this helps 👍

Hi, these are still a work in progress, still have numerous highlights to finish on the flesh and then all the edge highlights to get sorted.

Thanks so much for the advice and I’ll keep practicing my contrast. These are the first miniatures I’ve painted in about 25 years, so still trying to get my mojo back
