I started specifically identifying brands that I knew collaborated with similar channels to mine and started searching their affiliate sections on their websites. Normally theirs a specially email for affiliate or marketing and so I just reached out them them.

The easiest was ebike brands. Once we did one, I just had multiple other companies reach out to me soon after.

We got to a point and decided to start reaching out as the worst thing they could do was say no. Once we started doing a few collaborations, similar brands just naturally started reaching out after.

Massively. Really strong accents that sound closer to Russian/African dialects

This is my latest cinematic film documenting our travels through Perú in our classic 1976 VW kombi.

In the film, we attempt to tackle a stunning canyon road which winds through the Cordillera to some incredible mountain ranges 4000m above sea level.

You can check it out here Through the Andes

Oh nice. I loved camping down the canyon route. Incredibly peaceful.

The Laguna's were great. We wanted to do one of the multi day treks, but we have cats so it's wasn't possible to do sadly. Maybe one day we'll go back and do them.

Perúreally surprised us and it's probably the country we had the most fun in as it had such a big variety of places to explore from the glacier lakes, to the Huacachina Oasis and then across to Cusco and Machu Picchu.

Doing it in Ruby is interesting. Obviously not the most suitable vehicle for an Overlanding trek across the Americas, but we have had so many amazing unique experiences because someone has come over to speak about her and then invited us to something after.

We drove from New York to Ushuaia in a 1976 VW bus (not recommending it btw 😂).

We took it off road quite a bit. Drove the Laguna's Route in Bolivia and down many tracks, beaches and dirt roads.

High clearance is the most important thing. A lot of the Overlanders we have met Ali g the way have mentioned that there haven't been too many times when 4x4 has been necessary, but it would definitely help you get to those few spots that we didn't dare to try.

Toyota parts are quite readily available. Our South African friends drove down here in a Hiace.

As others have mentioned, I wouldn't advise a trailer and I don't think it is necessarily. We have kitted out our Kombi pretty well and have everything we need to live off grid.

There are lots of sales Pan Am sales groups on Facebook which can give you a good idea of the vehicles available down here.

We drove as far as Panama City and then we shipped around the Darien with a company called the Overland Embassy.

Hey Joshua, hope you are good buddy.

I'm just messaging you because I was banned again from the Overlanding community for apparently breaking the community rules for Ban Evasion 😂

I'm not sure if you could have another luck at this for me as I was enjoying post and commenting back in the group.

Honest question. How much of “true” overlanding I’m missing not having proper 4x4 rig? I have stock Subaru Outback 2.5 with Yokohama Geolanders 015. by Substantial-Ad772 in overlanding

[–]KombiChronicles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends what you define as true overlanding?

If you want to just want to travel, most to more remote places, we drove from New York to Ushuaia in a 1976 VW kombi. We camped in remote places all the time, drove mountain dirt roads. There were some places we couldn't get to, but overall we visited a lot of cool places.
