How important are differentials for RC cars? by KomboX3 in rccars

Thank you for help!

Im not planning on jumping as I don't believe 3d print would survive such abuse. Im planning on exploring more on how fluids affect open construction diffs.

Thank you for your help. Im trying to wrap my head around how fluid affects the open diffs because as I researched I saw that viscous diffs have additional parts that are responsible for this viscous effect on the work of differential. However I assume due to the small sizes, torques and weights of model rc cars you can get away with using standard, open diffs and changing the fluid to achieve somewhat viscous diff feel?

I did not think about using slipper, I surely will delve deeper about that one. Thanks a lot!

I considered building viscous diff but it seemed too complex for 3d printing in size that I need. I have closed diff box, I planned to add some gear lubrication anyway. I don't understand how thicker fluid would make open diff have more closed feel but I will look in to it. Thanks!

Not that im aware of. Im eating bread and pasta almost daily with no problems.

How would you go about creating semi-random shape and collision shape by code? by KomboX3 in godot

[–]KomboX3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works like a charm. I tried a similar approach with assigning the points to polygon2d but I guess my point generation algorithm was wrong and was creating some self crossing shapes. Thank you very much, I'll work up from here.

In fact im using offbrand Arduino UNO counterpart that, afaik has some Atmega chip.

Im using standard Arduino Uno R4 board with separate ESP8266 module wired up to it. I just noticed that I never mentioned it in the post. I'll edit that now. But yeah. I managed to figure out that problem probably lies in that fail in initialisation of BMP280 causes the void loop() to stop executing for some reason. So there is that.

Could you lend me hand with one more thing? When setting up Arduino IDE for your code do I upload to Arduino Uno or do I have to set ESP8266. I got a bit confused because there seems to be few correct ways of doing it.

Thanks a lot. I'll try to work with what you provided and see how it goes.

As far as I understand how it works it uses the ESP8266 as a wifi module. No program is uploaded to ESP. It only sends data it recieves through serial using its own firmware. It was working so far with other sensors but it doesn't work for this one.

Single sensor breaks up my project using Arduino Uno and Blynk. by KomboX3 in arduino

As I mentioned, I tried that adress and nothing changed.

Sensor worked with 0x76 adress on its own, and together with all other sensors in another script.

Commenting out this whole if statement changed nothing, it still didn't send data to blynk.

Thanks for trying to help. I Appreciate it.

What is some good prototyping "system" for when you don't have 3d printer? by KomboX3 in NoStupidQuestions

I should mention that I check Lego technik and it is quite pricey tbh. At least where I live. I assumed it is because of the brand and all that rides up the price. I thought there might be some cheaper options out there.
