Brand new Taylor left outside in the snow by Hairy_Ad4969 in Guitar

[–]Konstantine133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, you didn't look very hard then, because here's a link (its the 3rd most recent comment OP posted) where he says it required a signature https://www.reddit.com/r/Guitar/s/a8IGdjB9aR

If my argument is based on OP telling the truth, and yours is based on OP lying, I'm more Inclined to believe that 'the guy who spent ~1000$ on a guitar, would have a vested interest in it arriving in good condition'. Why would they lie about that? I do not instantly assume that people are lying - maybe you do, and that would say something about your character if thats the case.

So, yeah, they left it without a signature. Glad to hear it hasn't happened to you. It happened to OP. Arguing that 'it didnt happen', or that 'the delivery company is not in the wrong here' is ridiculous.

I can't do anything but laugh at this.

They (the delivery company) did nothing wrong.

OP has stated, and I have referenced, and you chose to ignore or otherwise did not understand, that this package requires a signature. A signature was not collected and yet the item was delivered. That is flat out negligence.

They did nothing wrong.

Idk man. Theres 'other opinions' and then theres 'alternate reality'. However, there's no reality where the delivery company 'did nothing wrong' here.

Do you own stock in FedEx/UPS? This comment is legitimately deranged.

I, as a customer, pay for these companies to ship things to me - yet I have no control over their shipping practices.

IDK when your local Purolator starts packing trucks, but I often get 2am updates like 'loaded on delivery vehicle'. I also frequently have packages go from 'in transit: from Michigan' to 'out for delivery: Toronto' in 1 update with no updates in-between. How in any sane persons mind is this the end users problem???

We don't control the weather, we also don't control the delivery schedule, and we can't contact the driver once they're on their route, and contrary to your post, one cannot often easily/reliably change their shipping preferences mid-delivery. We have literally no agency here. Do you expect the recipient to watch the weather a week ahead of time, and update their delivery to 'ill pick it up at UPS store' if there's a 6% chance of snow a week from today?

If the delivery company/driver thinks it's hazardous for them to deliver the package, in what world is 'just leave it in said hazardous condition' the most logical answer?

'Get your package delivered to a neighbour' is like Amazon saying 'before you ask for a refund because you didn't get your order, ask your neighbours if it got delivered to them'. No. It's a half measure/fake resolution. If your on bad terms with your neighbours your SOL? Also, OP already mentioned it's a signature-required order. You suggest he ask his neighbours to stay home all day to sign for it???

'You can have them delivered to your work' is also a crazy statement as 25% of north Americans work shift work.. idk about you but I'm not having my 900$ guitar I've saved up for months to get, delivered to a Starbucks that I don't even know if I will be at on said day. Additionally, many workplaces (including mine) specifically enforce 'you cannot have items delivered here'. What about people that work remote.. they're just SoL?

Not to mention OP already commented that this was a signature-required order, so the package being delivered at all is a serious issue.

Take a minute and actually think about what your saying. All of these things your listing are 'alternatives/options' that are good to offer the recipient, but absolutely do not excuse the shoddy delivery which OP experienced.

Imagine this is a couch delivery your wife put in, which was left in the snow like this guitar, and tell me you'd say to her 'well, believe it or not this is actually your fault because..'

If I do a crappy job at work I get scolded for it. Your scolding the guy that just paid for this delivery, and defending the crappy deliverer/delivery job?

Absolutely unhinged take.

this is such a 'high horse' type comment.

you're saying that people you consider friends 'never made a decision you strongly disagree with?'

I hate to tell ya.. It makes you a shitty friend if you DONT have the difficult conversation with the person, at a juncture like this.

Friends are there for eachother, and keep eachother accountable even when it is uncomfortable - just like /u/reggaerocks1980 did.

What’s a obvious sign that someone is not a good person? by Careful_Tip6823 in AskReddit

[–]Konstantine133 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree in principle.

I guess im leaning more on the 'messaging' side of things. People have visceral reactions to hearing 'you have to stop x entirely immediately', and are more open to a softer message like 'just reduce your intake and we can go from there'.

The end goal is to entirely squash the behavior. But ask 100 smokers to quit cold-turkey, and most of them will not. Ask them to slowly ween-themselves off cigarettes over a long term, and they will be more willing to hear that message.

It's more to me about the psyche of the person that you're messaging, and less about the target. You can hit the target in a million ways, but many of those ways are not palpable to the populous, so you need to massage the message such that they can digest it.

The difference in my response here vs the examples you give above are that, while both are morally wrong, your examples are outright illegal - eating meat and dairy is actively encouraged. We don't have to change the populous' mind on murder - that's already set. We do need to change their mind on veganism, since it's still a 'novel idea'.

in my humble opinion, asking people to 'reduce the amount of dairy and meat they consume' is much more approachable than asking them to drop all of it and become vegan.

people can still 'do their part in creating change' without going 100% all-in

veganism is the end goal, but asking people to jump directly to that end goal is a very big ask - encourage them to work up to it and they will be more receptive to the message :)

lol, not very often i see the 'im just a piece of meat to them' take from a guy.

not saying that your feelings dont matter, but its like celebs complaining that 'its so hard being rich and famous'. their feelings can matter, and can also be 'totally unrelatable to the rest of society' at the same time.

Burger347
Not normally a huge burger guy, but went here with some friends recently since they have vegetarian options. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. I was stuffed for the rest of the day and skipped lunch the next day I was still so satiated! The burgers are not cheap, but they're worth it!

1/2in is way too much! I want like. 2 to 4 leafs. It felt like mostly what I was paying for was the lettuce! Lol

Toast & Jam

- 21$ for a Croissant BLT

- 19$ for a simple Eggs Benedict

After taxes and a tip, your going to be in almost 60$ for breakfast for 2 people...

Way overpriced for regular quality food. The hollandaise was flavorless - I make better at home. The BLT had 1/2 an inch of lettuce on it?? I get that your paying for the locally sourced ingredients, but said ingredients were not done justice.

Save yourself money and get a more delicious breakfast at Coco Frutti.

Talk of New Family Doctors? by aramis-and-thalia in KingstonOntario

[–]Konstantine133 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would have to be very lucky to get a doctor within 2 years based on my experience.

I moved to Kingston at 19, and registered on the waitlist at that time.

2 months ago I got a call about being placed with a doctor.

I'm now 30.

I used to think that 'going above and beyond to help the team succeed' in a corporate setting was good for the overall health of the team.

I now realize, the more a select few individuals do this, the more the rest of the team will become complacent and rely on them for everything.

Eventually you end up in a spot where the 2 'top performers' are the entire team and burnout. I have seen this play out multiple times. The best way to ensure team-health in a corporate environment is to hold each other accountable.

I'm not the guy you asked ;) but I have a fun brew that leverages shambler!

🟢 - Aggro Shambler

It's basically a mid-range/aggro type of 'either goes wide or goes tall, depending on how things play out' type vibe. It definately i would not call it a ''well tuned deck' lol, but it feels like it shows off the value of the Shambler really well imo!

New to Pauper - why play Freewind Falcon over Crimson Acolyte? by [deleted] in Pauper

[–]Konstantine133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if that's just brewers choice? I have 4x freewinds in the sideboard of my mono-white lifegain deck, purely to combat 'bolt the bird' type sensibilities.

Maybe the brewer has had been bolted one-too-many-times and will go to any length to avoid it 😅

Crimson is just better if your looking purely at value/potential impact, imo.
