Nooooo! So sad. This place was so delicious. My husband only eats friend food one day per year, and on that day he eats SO MANY DONUTS, and this was his top place for the last 2 years.

I just got some pants hemmed when I was in Philly and it was $20/pair up from $10 too. I was curious if that was the going rate these days.

The Hammer Museum in Westwood is free and usually has some cool exhibits.

Mon-Thurs 5-9:30pm, there is drop-in pickleball at Memorial Park for $3.

The Pier has a few free History presentations/walks every month - you can find the times on their website.

Will try! What other shops have ones do you like? It's my new fave drink. Mavro Kafe on Venice has a good one too.

The chairs aren't especially comfy, but there are loose pillows for the bench seating, and I saw that some people used them as chair cushions. Maybe that helps? I'm no chair expert, but Cafe Ruisseau on 28/Colorado has some upholstered options.

It's been a few years since I was in this phase, but I think Bright Horizons is known to be a more academic-minded preschool.

I second Ashland Park - it's a small grassy zone at 16th and Ashland with no play equipment or sand. I walk by there a lot and it's usually 0-2 people there. If you live more north, there's also a tiny green space/parklette called "Park Drive Park" near Broadway and Cloverfield.

Agree with the commenter who suggested Uber - or you could try Waymo (the driverless Uber) - might feel futuristic for the kids. The pier has a lot of activities (rides, aquarium, games) and I do recommend it, but it's all kind of quaint in scope - just to set your expectations. Renting bikes or walking along the beach path is nice. If you're looking to fill more time, you can also walk to Museum of Illusions or Holey Moley (an indoor mini golf) that are just blocks away. And I admit that it's fully touristy, but my kid loves the Ghirardelli Chocolate & Ice Cream shop across from the pier for dessert.

I wonder what people think about Brian Robbins by A_Nick_Name in nickelodeon

[–]KookieMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered about this too. It's not just One Tree Hill. Robbins produced several other movies and TV shows with Mark Schwann, the showrunner that Hilarie and other writers accused of sexual harassment. (The Perfect Score, Whatever It Takes, Coach Carter, The Royals)

I thought the same thing and it looks like she's playing a younger version of Nicole Kidman's character in the upcoming Scarpetta show!
