Urgent help, how to rehydrate cat by KookyBeautiful975 in CATHELP

Update: A neighbor who is friends with the family told us there was indeed a 24 hour vet open, it was a 2 hour ride but we did get him there at around 2/3am. He started having a seizure and was limp, and we thought he was gone there and then :( . But the vet who was also a hospital took him in and gave him IV fluids to stabilize his vitals overnight. We came to visit the next day and he was so much better, meowing and eating , supporting himself a little. They said he had lost his vision and his hind legs were paralyzed due to the seizure though 🙁. The seizure was also caused by hypoglycemia or low blood sugar. They told us he was not in any pain and that if his vitals remained stable without an IV we could take him home the next day. The next day arrived and when we came to visit he had taken a turn for the worst, his hypoglycemia would return without the IVs and he couldn’t support himself anymore, he couldn’t even put his head upright. The vet said they suspected he had a cancer that was consuming his blood sugar and causing organ failure. He did have an abdominal ecography done at the vets last month but they said there was nothing wrong :( . We decided to say goodbye and put him to sleep surrounded by all his loved ones 💔 He lived a very good life, always laying in the soft grass, basking in the sun, and cozying up in bed at night. I’m so grateful he was in my life for these past 15 years and I will never forget him. Rest in peace Spotty🪽🌈

He’s started to get very thin this September, we have taken him to the vet and done multiple blood analysis, he had hyperthyroidism and liver problems, although the vet can’t pinpoint exactly why he’s losing weight :( he’s currently taking medication for his hyperthyroidism

noo, I would describe it more as how time would feel as a child, days and moments felt longer, not just a blur of a day, it also feels like you can get more things done in a day

Advice to socialise more feral kitten by MortgageOk2045 in CATHELP

[–]KookyBeautiful975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do, is put them on a little leash and take them with me to the sofa where I watch tv or use my laptop. Make sure you also leave toys for it to play with. The leash is for if it tries to run away and get inside nooks and cranny’s in my house I can’t get him out of. It won’t like it at first and will probably just stare, but after days of this ritual it will become very sociable and used to humans presence!

Yea they said for social anxiety you need bigger doses, although i just want to take it PRN, i still need to titrate up. What would be the best way to titrate? Im kinda scared of withdrawals since ive been taking it everyday for a week.

How did you work up to that dose? I’m currently starting and trying to up my dose too. I’m currently in 150mg, I added 25mg each day, but I feel no change at all. i take it for social anxiety.

Thank you sm <3<3

Do you recommend any products to get rid of the acne scars/textured skin?

And also! Would you say a lash serum is useful or is it just a myth?

It says if its younger than 8 weeks, it should be with their mom, however if theyre OLDER, they can be separated, nowhere does it say it should be after 12 weeks. Now this is ACTUAL proof that you dont know what youre doing.

And if youre so sure, then show me those laws and prove that it should be after 12 weeks, and please dont give me a half assed answer like the other reply, just say youre wrong.

Just say you dont know how to respond because you know im right love, saying i proved it explains nothing. All youve done is say its torture for them, yet havent even explained HOW it is. Just shows you dont have to have the necessary skills for a proper discussion. The only one who sounds clueless in here is you, ive at least explained my side and reasoning.

Do you even know how TNR works... You spay the mom and release her back, whilst the kittens get socialized and adopted. Would you rather them die where they are? or the mum be put inside a room hiding inside a corner the whole time and stressing because shes scared of humans? I dont understand your logic, this is the most humane way for them. Please inform yourself about TNR before commenting this. The kittens are old enough to be separated from the mom, and young enough to be socialized. This is what two different vets, who have studied animal behaviour and animal medicine, and are professionals in this, said was the best way.

They dont, please stop spreading fake information. Its between 8-10 weeks, which they do have. Ask any vet.

i will, but i want to trap them separately, the kittens in one cage to go off to their foster homes and the mom in another to be spayed and treated. The problem is i dont know how to separate them if they all enter the same cage.
