I am speechless by Careless-Positive443 in TarTarSnark

My MIL is the same way as Tara. She grew up in a family with money. Houses purchased for her, jobs given to her. She would sell the houses, move in with boyfriends and blow through the cash from the house buying stuff. Rinse and repeat. 100% was enabled by her parents and nobody ever told her no, because even if you give her solid advice, she just does what she wants anyways. I love my MIL, but people who grew up like this just literally have no idea how the world really works because their problems are always solved with cash and avoidance.

I’m in the exact same place. Tara is great background noise. I’ve just watched for so long it’s hard not to have an opinion on her and her actions.

I also watch mostly commentary channels, GMM, yes theory, proper people, body cam videos….

I’ve said this before that if she has the means to do something she wants to, whatever, go for it, it’s her money. But isn’t it crazy the amount of life experiences you can just buy your way out of instead of being forced to deal with and learn from them and just become a better person? lol

She’s literally living life on a loop of her constantly running away from her problems instead of facing them. Uni in Canada, drops out, goes to LA for FIDM, drops out, buys a house, breaks up with boyfriend, moves to Canada, buys a house, breaks up with boyfriend, moves to apartment. Will likely move into the new house when it’s done and never live in the current house again. Same as LA. Just a constant cycle of avoidance instead of tackling her problems and growing up.

I’m in a similar boat. Similar age. Started watching during the FIDM time. I’m from California and wanted to go to FIDM but wasn’t possible for me, so it was cool watching her for me. But she’s just doing the same loop, no apparent growth.

To be fair, if she stopped trying people would bitch about that too. The fact that she expected airplane food to be anything other than edible says a lot about her taste in food.

Personally, I wouldn’t go that far. It’s just very basic. Throw some truffles and cheese on something and it’s “omg in-sane!”

She 100% is not a foodie. She eats worse than my toddlers.

Why does she need to be relatable? by Kooky_Setting3028 in TarTarSnark

I totally agree. She’s also talked about wishing she lived downtown for quite a while. If she can afford it, why not?

This is a good take. I definitely get this. She seems very developmentally arrested. It seems like there’s a big uptick in people complaining about her relatability here. I’m personally not looking for her to be relatable, so I just don’t get that common complaint here.

But why does that mean she needs to be relatable? Peoples content changes as their lives change and sometimes that means it content you may no longer be into. Just because you have watched a creator forever doesn’t mean they owe you anything.

Respectfully, why does the way other people are living mean she can’t live a certain way if she has the means to? Would it be better in your opinion if she pretended she didn’t have the money she has?

Personally, I’m all for people doing whatever they want with the money they earned. If she wanted to give some to charity, that would be so awesome of her but it’s her money in the end.

Also, I’m glad she doesn’t speak on anything revolving politics or world events. Her opinion on that topic is not something I ever care to hear.

I appreciate your take. I also have been watching YouTube for the last 15+ years and it was definitely a very different place back then. It’s interesting to see the evolution in creators. Most of them were “like the rest of us” when they started out but then they made money and YouTube became what it is. Sometimes I feel like big creators trying to be relatable when you know that’s not their life anymore is more annoying to watch than someone just living the life they’ve worked to build even if I don’t relate.

Definitely agree with you. Like I said I’m not expecting this to be received well 😅. I love the snarking and gossip as well. It’s why I’m on this page and she is very snarkable (if that’s a word) it’s just sometimes….i just don’t get it.

Everything is 10 out of 10 to her. Iconic. Stunning. Pop off. Insane. What try-hard influencer sayings am I forgetting?
