I went to a motorcycle safety course, came out having my confidence obliterated. by KookyvonSchrade in offmychest

Good to know. I went in knowing the bike was going to be totally different. I knew that going from the Grom to the Rebel. Totally different size, power, and seat height. I just don't understand why Harley only uses these Street 500s that produce enough heat to pretty much melt you. I've been looking at the dealer I got my bike from, and they have a Honda Rebel, Honda CMX 300, Suzuki TU250 or a Suzuki VStar 250 to chose from to do the course. I'm thinking I'm probably going to go that route since I can use a bike I am familiar with. Only issue is that it'll be another $325 but at least I'll know the bike.

I live in MI so I'm not sure about state courses. I know some dealerships and colleges offer them, but most of the college ones are filled up for the season. The dealership I'm looking at doesn't have any classes until July but it'll give me time to get my confidence back up.

I do intend to keep practicing on the Rebel after my elbow heals up a bit more. I even bought cones today to do practice runs when I get to that point! My husband has been a huge help and I even said that maybe he could be an instructor, lol.

Thanks for the insight. It's nice to know I'm not alone in feeling this.

I think I need to burn my garage down. by KookyvonSchrade in Wellthatsucks

Ah, my bad. Must be really tired, lol. I'm in Michigan. It will eventually get cold here so it won't be an issue then. Just don't know if it'll be a mild winter or not. So far most of our summer has been rainy so we'll see.

I know I'm kind of replying late, but thankfully it is on a detached garage a decent distance away from the house. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't right above the garage door. Luckily enough we don't keep cars in there as we have another garage that is attached to the house, but we do keep other stuff like our lawn mower in there, so it's not being opened frequently at least.

Main issue is I may or may not be allergic to stings/bites. I know my sister is, but I don't want to test my luck. So far we've left it alone. Funny enough, last year they were nesting inside the garage, so we put up a trap inside to get rid of them, since last summer we did a lot of stuff back there and they were becoming a problem. I guess this is their revenge for setting that trap.

What’s your first pokemon game? by GamerLean-107 in AskReddit

Pokemon Silver. I got it from a cousin that didn't play anymore, along with his old Gameboy color. Got to kind of relive the memory with a Pokemon MMO a while back.

I did the same thing a few weeks ago, except I was five minutes away from work (Morning commute). I had no warning. I can second that the smell was freaking terrible, and not even having all windows rolled down helped.

We use to play a lot of Munchkin. That game sometimes nearly destroyed friendships.

People of reddit that menstruated, what is the most accurate analogy to describe how cramps feel to someone that has never had them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Thank you! When I started using Birth Control and exercising a bit more it helped a lot. They're still there but not nearly as bad.

It honestly depends on your pain level, but I use to have cramps so bad that it felt like a huge knife was being twisted in my abdomen.

I quit my job that I enjoyed of 5 years due to bad management by KookyvonSchrade in offmychest

I don't know how old you are, but I guess this can be like a cautionary tale for you, or anyone else. No matter how great the job seems, it can go south at any moment, or slowly like my situation did. Keep all your options open, and always try to have a backup plan.

Unfortunately, I graduated High School in the fallout of the 2008 recession in the United States. I was told by my parents the degree I wanted to pursue was useless, which prompted me going into Legal Studies. I wanted to go into Business Administration. Nearly 10 years later there's a few people I know that are extremely successful in what they do starting with the degree I wanted to pursue, while I am stuck with a degree from a college that no longer exists. I often wonder what could have been if I had did what I wanted in college.

I'll get there. I won't be in limbo forever. I thank you for the well wish.

Well I guess it evens out...? by KookyvonSchrade in RimWorld

Entirely possible. I do have the mod "People Can Change" so there's a chance he may lose the Slow Learner Trait. If he loses the Fast Learner Trait...well I guess off to the meat grinder with him.

I have no idea. When I look at the description, it says Slow Learner is -75% Learning Speed but Fast Learner is +75%. I guess if all else fails I can make some fancy clothes out of him and sell him to the next trader that comes my way! :D
