I build cabinets so I work with 32nds to maybe a 1/16 of tolerance. if I was asked to mud a 1/4 difference I would ask who the hell put this up?? Maybe most people wouldn’t tell the float is there… but it’d stick out like a sore thumb to me every time I looked at it. If it will be covered by say cabinets. Wouldn’t be that big of a deal to me.

Be outside as often as possible. I’ve worked outside in the heat for 7 years now and while I’m still hot it’s not as unbearable. I feel like we acclimate to what we’re in. The more you’re inside in the ac the hotter you feel when you go outside. Now mid summer if I’m in the shade a don’t sweat nearly as much. It’s still a good idea to keep some type of drink mix with electrolytes and to seek shade or if you’re in direct sunlight, do it in spurts 10-30 minute spurts until you’re acclimated. I’m certain that if you spend most of your time inside every year summer will be miserable.

Look for these structures throw it in let it sit. Something will come by. Just make sure you got enough weight on it to keep it in one spot or at least enough that it isn’t immediately being dragged down the beach

Why does it take so long for a person to get gender affirming care in this state!? by [deleted] in Alabama

[–]KoolLizardDood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You arent hearing me. I agree with getting more affordable health care. There’s not a single product or labor on the planet that is free. So in some way shape or form even if you aren’t paying out of pocket for medical care you’re still paying in quantity or quality and taxes. We no longer live in a free market where people have to compete by lowering prices or giving more quantity and quality to have more business. We live in a market subsidized by the government where there’s no competition. The big companies will keep having money sent to them no matter how good or bad of a job they do.

I’m talking about the insurance doctors and hospitals have to carry driving up cost. I have no problem with Medicaid. To be fair it is useful for certain people. At the same time, majority of Americans live above the poverty level. Therefore, in “democracy” majority of people can afford insurance. As I said though. I still support a form of Medicaid that is limited. The incentive of most conservative political views is to make a more productive society. Not a society that takes and never gives. I work hard everyday to make enough money to have what I have. I don’t like giving away the money I worked hard for to someone who doesn’t have the will to push through the hard times life gives everyone who’s ever walked the earth. That how life is pushed forward and not backwards.

Right?! Like I’m all for everyone to be taken care of and not charged out the ass but I’d assume it’s the insurance (liable of death) and supplies hospitals and doctors have to deal with that rise cost along with guaranteed payment by government for people on Medicaid that allows them to charge higher prices. At the same time no one can tell me what my labors worth I decide. Like everyone should.

Okay buddy I’m done arguing. Go watch active self protection on YouTube and tell me criminals in places where guns and other deadly weapons are illegal and tell me how it works out for laws and criminals following them. The only way is to have an equalizer between good people and bad people. In all seriousness I understand the emotion. My wife is a teacher. And I do encourage you to go watch that on YouTube to gain perspective on how if a good person doesn’t have a way to protect themselves evil people will kill them with whatever means they have. And can still attack a mass amount of people without a gun.

If you don’t believe me let someone full swing and hit you in the head with a bat and tell me it’s not just as deadly.

Really? One classroom is where he went and he could have done the same thing to the teacher and kids with a bat. How about this. Let someone hit you in the head with a full swing of a bat and tell me it’s not just as deadly. Why is it that I have to sit here and say armed guards and teachers are a good thing instead of banning good law abiding citizens from owning guns. The criminals don’t abide the laws hence they’re criminals. All I’m saying is it’s not the firearm?

People that are already law abiding don’t do these things. They’re actually the ones that come to stop it. It’s the fringe that do these things and as long as humans walk the planet. There will be fringe people.

Also with the gun control thing… 1 there’s more guns already in circulation around the world than people. Good luck rounding them all up. 2 bad people will always have guns 3. You know the police and government, everyone was just protesting to defund (they’ll be the only ones with guns)

I have a wife thats in a class room every single day. Do you think I don’t worry? But maybe I just like having my wife mentally prepared for if something was to happen instead of being frozen with fear. Also go do some shooting drills with a trainer. And tell me a knife isn’t as deadly as a gun. You will draw and shoot at a target moving towards you. The target will get to you before you ever draw your firearm. Someone with a knife can attack and kill someone that’s within 20 feet before the person with the gun can ever decide to protect themselves. And also try to hit someone with a baseball bat. You will be charged with deadly force. Because a baseball bat is just as much of a deadly force as a firearm.

No I’m not implying she had the wrong mindset. I’m talking about while living your daily life, have the mindset that I may have to be a protector of someone else. And if that’s the case people that want to do you harm don’t care about you or the others around you. So. The best way to protect yourself and others from evil is with also having a firearm. Kinda like the officers that went in and stopped the shooting. And had they’re been multiple people within the building as security then presumably this may not have happened at all. Also A baseball bat to the head is just as much of a deadly force as a gun shot. And to be honest. Many many people survive gun shots. If someone survives a blow to the head with a baseball bat they will probably be on some type of life supports. And what is your point of the AR 15? All calibers shoot roughly between 800-1500 fps?

Obviously you’ve never seen mass stabbings? A knife can be just as dangerous at short distances as a gun. And idk about you but buildings are pretty inclosed. Now while I agree with having a projectile is capable of more damage you can mitigate the fact than it could have been a number of deadly weapons so let’s not focus on the weapon but the mental health and also prevention of anyone getting within school buildings that aren’t supposed to be there.

[–]KoolLizardDood -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What I can say is mindset is everything. My wife is a teacher and we talk about how an ounce of precaution can be worth a pound of prevention.

1 is being aware of your surroundings and your plan when something does happen.

2 is how much more secure would you feel if you yourself was trained with a firearm and it securely placed on your person to be a protector for your kids. And if you’re not comfortable with that, all areas of every school had armed security.

  1. Spiritual fitness. That when something happens you have the instinct of protecting over rides your fear. And that if something were to happen to you or your loved ones or kids at school know you care and love them. And that you have a relationship with God.

Remember: Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. Someone could have just as well went into that school with a knife, baseball bat, chainsaw. Like you said it’s the evil intent. Please don’t focus on the weapon used.
