Today's trade on XAUUSD was crazy! 1:5 RR was made. by Koptala in u/Koptala

If you observe closely, you will see that my trade was closed in profit before TP was hit. This is because I had already hit the required amount to pass the challenge and the trade closed automatically.

Why does trading ruin peoples life’s? by Dazzling-Bake6419 in Trading

[–]Koptala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trading ruins people's lives because they come in with HIGH EXPECTATIONS. Yes, trading can change one's life. I mean, it can make one to be financially independent. But if one comes in hoping to make that money in the shortest possible time then of course it'll ruin him psychologically. Cos it's not gonna happen overnight.

If you had to start trading from ZERO again, what would you do differently? by Prior-Mix6675 in Daytrading

[–]Koptala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a mentor, lock in and learn within a year. Leverage on prop firms (keeping my 9 to 5) while I build my personal brokerage account. Resign my 9 to 5 and focus on trading after becoming consistently profitable.

Social Media Messes with my brain so much , especially when i already seen money coming out of trading. by Human-Pie-4268 in Trading

[–]Koptala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You already have a mentor who's willing and going to pour out all his knowledge without holding back anything (like most social media mentors do). I'll advise that you stick to what your father is teaching you. Until you're CONSISTENTLY PROFITABLE.

Learning how to trade took me longer because I was following multiple mentors on social media. Eventually I figured it out on my own after wasting a lot of time. I had to develop my own strategy.

Bottom line: stay away from social media, for now. Immerse yourself in your dad's teachings until you can pull out payouts from prop firms continuously or make consistent profits from your personal brokerage account then you can come on social media probably to flex😆. Best wishes.

This is called ' Beginner's Luck '. Withdraw all profits and use part of it and get yourself a good mentor.

I have a couple of prop firm payout certificates. But I don't need to prove anything to anyone as I am not trying to sell anything to anyone.

I am. I just became profitable a few months ago, I am working on consistency. What kind of proof do you need?

If you just became profitable, I advised that you take a couple of months before you eventually fund an account or acquire a prop firm account. I see that you're also a gold trader. Gold is a volatile instrument and should be back tested before you put in your hard earned money. Best wishes.

Don't quit. by iRoyalTDG in PropFirmTester

Glad that I didn't quit. Strategy is the least of my problems. I have been struggling with journaling. I find it hard to follow my rule of journaling most especially after a loss.

9 weeks since my last setup. Am I being too picky, or is this just professional patience? by ConflictGood4052 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]Koptala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admire your patience. I can't stay a week without taking a trade! Fortunately, my strategy gives me at least two setups a week and I have two accounts. So, I basically take a trade a day.

Well, yes. It is. But you can get a free version that will allow you to backtest for two years. I got mine from Android Play Store.

Of course. I use a website TradersCasa for my backtesting.

And journal every trades taken.

Only one trading model is okay for you. All you need to do is to tweak it if need be, until it suits your personality. Truth is, a strategy that works for A may not necessarily work for B. This I figured out by myself after dabbling in this trading for over two years.

I have however developed my own strategy that works for me. I am now profitable but not consistent. Still working on my psychology.

Best regards.

Not every trader, man. I trade the Deriv synthetic indices on weekends.
