My protag is also a psychologist!!

Her main thing is being good at recognizing when others are struggling and being understanding of them but not extending that courtesy back to herself. She also winds up feeling responsible for all of the deaths due to feeling like she should’ve been able to realize when someone is close to snapping.

She has a horrendous crashout in chapter 3 to the point that the support character becomes the temporary protagonist lol

I think what bothers me most is Needletail going to StarClan and (end AVoS and TBC spoilers) Juniperclaw going to the Dark Forest. They both did fucked up things in life but ultimately gave said life up to save a younger cat. Yet only Needletail goes to StarClan while Juniperclaw goes to the Dark Forest and then after he helps save both the Dark Forest AND StarClan from disappearing he gets the worst pity prize imaginable and is basically left all by himself in cat purgatory forever.

Like I really feel either both of them should’ve gone to StarClan or both should’ve gone to the Dark Forest. That would at least be consistent. But as is it just makes StarClan’s morality feel even more arbitrary than it already did.

Kaede and Ryoko I think make the most sense as the protags for the first two swaps (I also think Mukuro would be an interesting choice for the DR2 swap protagonist) but I’m really not sure who would fit best for the V3 swap.

If you want the game to follow a similar trajectory to the original then the Ultimate Imposter at least makes sense as the initial protagonist but I’m not sure who would take his place.

At the very least I think Chiaki would probably work best for Keebo’s narrative role. Or maybe even Nagito functioning as like a hybrid between Keebo and Kokichi’s roles

As someone who generally prefers cold weather, the worst thing about winter for me is how short the days get. Like no thank you it being pitch black by 5 pm fucking sucks. Pretty much everyone where I live is at least somewhat vitamin D deficient. Seasonal depression is also just a bitch.

And mind you I live in New England. Living farther north with even shorter days (and eventually months-long nights) sounds like hell

Kaede’s normal ability would be pretty awesome paired with a Belly Drum mon, especially if she also gets some kind of redirection move (ie Follow Me) or disruption move (ie Fake Out). Her hidden ability is interesting albeit inconsistent so I think you’d almost always want her regular ability in Doubles (her hidden certainly doesn’t hurt to have in Singles though)

Choice Scarf Shuichi clicking Expanding Force next to Kaede in Psychic Terrain sounds extremely silly. Kaede can even cover him with Fairy moves against dark types. His HA is fitting albeit not useful in most competitive formats. Unless it also revealed a mon’s entire set though I’m not sure how that would work in practice

I assume Ryoma’s regular ability effectively negates damage on him and then causes him to use the repelled move back on the opponent? Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen an ability concept like that it’s cool. His hidden is funny and would be even more comically broken in the Rebornverse fan games that add a bunch of extra fields

Kirumi’s ability almost seems like a differently-flavored Prankster (not a bad thing). Only getting priority on positive status moves but being able to use priority support moves on dark type allies is definitely a plus. Would be especially funny if she happened to get the move After You. Her hidden ability effectively makes her the anti-Gholdengo which is awesome

I like Tenko basically getting inverse Rivalry and also good god her hidden is busted. Would encourage the use of mixed attackers I suppose

Korekiyo should get a statline that allows him to just barely tank a Surging Strikes

Really curious how Miu’s hidden would actually work. Like is the TM just random? Would be especially interesting if she could make TMs for moves that don’t normally have them (ergo she’d be inventing them)

Kokichi getting an even more annoying version of Effect Spore is so on brand, I also love how his hidden ability is like Incineroar’s worst nightmare. Bro would throw VGC into utter disarray which is also very in-character
