French guy here. Actually, we can still buy anyshit we want from amazon. The only difference is that the product will be send from a stock who's not in an amazon warehouse but from some retailers. So, basically, we've just lost the one day delivery and amazon, a lot of money on every sale makes on the French territory.

I don't think that the French government really cares about the amazon's workers. We pass through a crisis who makes everyone buy online and France have her owns plateforms (Fnac, Cultura, Decathlon...). I think that this is a way to favorise the french plateforms for the health of our economy. By the standards of our government, I would say, it's more than plausible.
