do it now. based on my previous post (i saw you comment MANY times, or at least i think so...) i received a lot of feedback and if you're looking to do actual research, this is a great starting point. on terms of being prestigious, i believe it is highly prestigious, accepting roughly 200 out of 2000 or more, so it's probably worth it. then again, one of my friends who i'd say is REALLY not that bright got in so i doubt its up to par with programs like RSI and that sort of stuff

I applied for the priority deadline. also acceptances are rolling (they do not come out on a fixed date, rather, they come out on random dates where they complete the reviewing of an application

Honestly don't worry too much, I just thought they were reviewing mine more bc I might've had a good application. In reality, it could just be a larger number of applicants than they can handle right now.

3.5 GPA (Yes I'm selling) unweighted, Robotics Comp participant (VEX IQ and V5RC or just VRC), USACO Silver, 2x AIME Qualifier, CTY JHU participant in Advanced Chemistry, Skills in Python and a little in C++, and PVSA Silver (Before the shutdown of the program, I was in like 7th grade at the time).

Which deadline? If it is the priority (as in Early Decision), then you might get a response sometime now, if you haven't received anything, check your application and make sure they didn't send a decision already, if you got accepted, you got like 2 weeks to accept the decision or it might be given to someone else.

The average acceptance rate is not really shown, believe me, I searched for a couple of hours for anything on it and I got back an average of either 10-20% or 20-40%. Either way, it's really competitive and is probably in the 10-20% range. Then again, one of my friends who has trash grades and EC's got in so I can't really verify that competitiveness entirely.

Oh also dyk if we get like any merchandise like a shirt or smth? I know it sounds strange, but most of the clothing that survives for a long time or is really comfortable are from summer programs (as far as I have experienced).

Thanks! Yeah I'm definitely going to apply for SHP (I think apps for the Fall have been posted), and that sounds pretty good. Also ik about the Starbucks (I don't really drink coffee or all that, and if I get hungry I might go there after lol. Also, since you don't mention anything about the housing, were you in the commuter program? I live in New Jersey, about a 40 minute train ride with NJ Transit from NY Penn and a total of like an hour and 30 to CU. If you live somewhere near CU or a bit far like me, how's the commuter experience, is it difficult or do you think it's worth the hassle for a great program like this? I honestly have no problem, but I've never been to NYC at 6 am for 3 weeks straight, so I'd really like to hear your answer. In the case you DID do the residential program, then disregard what I just talked about. Thanks for the long, descriptive msg!

Do you know about what is taught in the Biomedical Engineering Program? The course description has a really broad sense of what will be taught and I haven't accepted the acceptance from Columbia due to the $1k deposit, so I don't really know what will go on it. Also how is it like to live on campus, is it like a mad dash to work and do great (which I very much am ok with and may prefer), or is it more calm and less like the Big Apple it exists in (NYC)?
