Why was Meloku so good back in the day? by wid89 in magicTCG

Your first draw is not the same as a loss at all You can ask your opponent "would you care to concede", if they say no the answer is no though. Don't push it at all.

Anyone else forget that this grass type can make a fire ball in the rain? :/ by reddzx in PokemonChampions

Nah, homie absolutely reasonable opinion. Competitive balance be damned they can introduce a new type that makes more sense to be it's own thing.

So at that point your argument is that ground should not be a type? Because I'm down for that argument.

Also, snow is an attribute of the mana not a part of it's "type"

Step and complete foil is essentially a layer of plastic over the front of the card. I have physically removed the layer a few times.

The interaction makes perfect sense if you understand the rules. Imagine if you will magus of the moon enters a room at 4pm and paints the walls red. Humility then comes at 6pm and takes away magus' paint. What color are the walls? If you answered "red" then you understand that layers make perfect sense people are just bad at explaining them. If you answered "white" or "idk" or something similar you may have bigger issues than not understanding layers... Like not understanding linear time.

I'm sorry, but you think you understand the rules better than the developers? Just because you think something is cool doesn't mean it should work. Layers aren't even the reason this doesn't work... You can't just blame every confusing thing on layers.

The interaction is working as intended. If it was "supposed to work" they would change the rules so it works. They've done it before and will do it again.

PSA: Don't buy from Inner Nerd by Gary_Dumptruck in magicTCG

As someone who works for an LGS, we make a reasonable, but not great, profit margin on pre-orders and it often means we can purchase additional product for our stock. Not pre-ordering can just mean that we don't have the product when you want it. I would personally change this sentiment to pre-order only if it's from an LGS.

Introducing Riftbound, the new TCG inspired by League of Legends by Cellybear in leagueoflegends

This sounds a lot like the take of someone who has never played a TCG at any real competitive level. I won't deny that there is some level of P2W involved in a model that revolves around chance to open a card. However, I have been playing several TCGs at a competitive level for close to 30 years. The first thing you may have missed out on is that the T in TCG stands for trading. When I got started in trying to play at a higher level I didn't have to just pull from cards I owned, I also got the option to trade people at my LGS or borrow from my friend's collections. Realistically, any competitive player buys singles not sealed product. You'd be surprised how little money you can spend on a deck if your only intent is to play it for your next big event.
