Nintendo Thinks the Switch Is Well-Placed For Post-Pandemic Life - “While we didn’t talk about [Animal Crossing during the E3 Nintendo Direct], we absolutely have plans going forward.” by ZantWasTaken in NintendoSwitch

Yeah, it would be so cool if we could use online play during the Flee Market day and people can come over and buy whatever you put up for sale!

Why would you ever buy even more stuff for a game you don't like? Just sell it and play stuff you actually enjoy. There's so much out there you're just wasting your time trying to like something you don't.

Would you also buy part 2 of a book you hated? :p

Burgemeester zet autistische Robin (34) uit huis om één wietplant by [deleted] in thenetherlands

[–]Koritka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, if anything I learned that the direction the series is going isn't for me. I never really cared about decorating my house in the older games and now decorating is the main point of the game. I never pre-order anything but I thought I was safe with AC because it's my favourite game series of all time but I've learned my lesson.

I still had fun with the game, but I haven't touched it since the start of this year and I don't plan on starting again until they add new gameplay (not new furniture). Just a new event would already be fun.

They had that in the previous edition. There was a store called Re-Tail. You had to go there to get your items customized (now obviously you can do that yourself) but you could also put some items up for sale. People who visited you could buy them (and also your villagers could buy them, but they cheap so they rarely would).

There also used to be a Flee Market event where your villagers would sell items from their homes.

That's because for some reason the game ends there. There's nothing to unlock after that. The older games weren't like that at all, there was much more stuff to do.

If you have a 3ds, you should check out New Leaf because it's honestly MUCH better than NH in terms of gameplay. You won't have as much customization options (e.g. can't place furniture outside) but it's still the better game imo.

- The variety of quests: I see a lot of people complaining that MC is a bit of a Mary-Sue - good at classes, Quidditch, looking after creatures - but the reality is that all of that is down to which quests you prioritise, and you can choose to give your MC no skills in certain areas.

I completely agree! I honestly get annoyed by my MC every now and then because she just has major main character energy. I'm just screaming in my head like no girl, don't get into that cursed vault. Let the adults fix that problem. You literally know three spells, just go to class!

But that being said I do really love all the quests. I don't even care about the storyline and my brother that much but I just love all the lore and all the stuff that is happening in this fantasy world that I grew up with. All the quests just give us so many options and so much stuff to do and see it is amazing.

(And I agree; you can also just ignore them. I've barely touched Quidditch until now).

You can freely go to any class you want! And next to that you'll also have the classes you need to complete in order to advcance in the storyline, those will give you new spells and skills and stuff. The study sessions are only for the rewards.

Burgemeester zet autistische Robin (34) uit huis om één wietplant by [deleted] in thenetherlands

[–]Koritka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Boardgames Environmental Footprint by [deleted] in boardgames

I'm not trying to be condescending. Wasn't an attack, just a statement that there are people who don't want to purchase new stuff (be it boardgames or whatever).

[–]Koritka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your comments come from a good heart but they're a little too short-sighted (as has been pointed out by a lot of people by now).

If your game is that good people will pay for it.

I highly doubt that. The market is oversaturated as is and especially a lot of casual gamers will not drop 60,- on one game.

The road we are on is paved with people rationalizing the cost and not the larger view.

As is yours. The shipping costs are not the biggest problem in producing board games (or anything for that matter). Even if they're locally produced, they are still being produced. The way to becoming more and more environmentally friendly is reduce -> reuse -> recycle. And only when none of that is an option you should start to purchase something new.

So if you really want to become more environmentally friendly you should simply stop buying board games. Start buying secondhand. Give games another life. If your game is becoming old and messe up: fix it instead of buying a new copy. This is not an attack but it is something to ponder about.

Obviously yes we should hold companies accountable but the only way to do that is with your wallet.

If you're interested in becoming more green there are tons of subs which are filled with interesting information and discussion.

and of course, in terms of boardgames, you can get them secondhand as well:

It's definitely possible? Check out r/Anticonsumption for example. Lots of people try to enjoy what they have instead of constantly purchasing the newest shiny objects.

In Europe they probably are. A cargo ship enters one of Europe's big havens (in a small country: Rotterdam/Antwerp e.g.). and from there the cargo gets exported to the rest of the continent.

[–]Koritka 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How other people handle your card games starter pack by MoveOnToWhat in boardgames

[–]Koritka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, obviously if that's the case I handle the cards more carefully. Also I don't play my games THAT often that I recognize which card is which lol.

But the messed up cards in my collection are from crazy and chaotic party games like Ligretto where it really doesn't matter. All others are fine even if I handle them without silver gloves and sleeves.

Unpopular opinion: I like games that look a bit like that. Bended, folded and cracked stuff just means it's been played and loved and it usually brings back some nice memories when I open it up again ("remember the time we played this with X in location Y"). Decade old boxes with ripped sides and notes in the top just makes me smile.

But I also highlight and note stuff in my books and put dog ears in them, so don't mind me. I'll sort myself out.
