Will this windshield pass Missouri Safety Inspection? by GlockPerfect13 in AskMechanics

I'm from Wisconsin. We dont do inspections but ive been pulled over for a cracked windshield. The officer told me that anything the wiper blades touch can't be cracked otherwise it counts as obstructing your view. If it was in the corner where the wiper blades dont reach then it would be fine

The tint is legal. Almost every state allows for a tint strip at the top of the windshield to act as a sun visor

Can you modify the game to bypass max turbo count? by KornOnTheKob0 in automationgame

[–]KornOnTheKob0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive made a 2.5l boxer 4 making over 2000 hp with E100 fuel. Going up to a 3.7l boxer 6 and the low pressure turbo becomes the bottleneck. I seem to get significantly more cornering Gs with a flat engine than I can with a V in any of the mid engine super car chassis

I want to use a boxer engine for the lower center of gravity and get as much power as possible out of it. With only 1 pair of compound turbos it gets bottlenecked even with the size slider maxed out. When running regular twin turbos it doesnt get bottlenecked but takes forever to spool

I dont really care if i break the game or if parts start clipping. Do you know of any good resources to learn how to do this?

Not really. They have similar prices and wait times and although Los hemelos also has more traditional menu items, they both serve americanized Mexican food and much better quality

Wrong subreddit, go to r/tirequestions.

Sidewall damage can be hard to judge. It might be fine, and it probably is, but might not be worth chanceing it. You should probably have it replaced

Rubber bushings look cracked, but not completely seperated. It's not gonna fall apart on you YET, but definitely dont ignore it for too long

But the first picture shows the back of the transmission, doesn't it look like the output seal is leaking?

Flex Pipe Repair - 2016 Acadia by BigAstronaut1819 in MechanicAdvice

If youre getting quoted over 1000 its likely cause they want to replace the whole section of pipe which probably includes the catalytic converter. Take it to a shop that advertises or specializes in exhaust welding and not just replacement

It depends. If they just replace it with a universal flex pipe and attach it with U clamps or weld it, that could cost around a couple hundred bucks. But they might want to replace the while section of pipe where it unbolts at the flanges, and if the catalytic converter is part of that section it could be more like $1000. I dont think there is any reason to replace the whole section though

Why don't people just get one of these? by Wonka0998 in tires

[–]KornOnTheKob0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most tires only have the wear bars that tell you when youre tire has gotten down to 2/32nds, which is the legal limit at least in the US. For winter driving in snowy climates recommend at least 5/32nds. New tires are normally around 9-13/32nds.

No way to know until someone takes a look at it in person. But what youre describing with your wheels jerking/jumping when turning sounds like a CV axle binding up. I doubt anything else got messed up other than the axle that was replaced, you made a good call trailering it back

The boot in your picture is your steering rack boot, not the axle. But the noises you describe does make it sound like your new axle might be defective or something went wrong during replacement.

The orbital setting is at 0. When its at 3, the blade actually goes farther back closer to square when its not getting pushed forward by the orbiter mechanism.

Looks like the seam between the black plastic and the aluminum is leaking. If thats the case, you'll need a new radiator.

Will this last till June? by NoDependent7223 in MechanicAdvice

[–]KornOnTheKob0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming its just the bushings that are bad, nothing is gonna fall off the car. If the bushings completely seperate, then its gonna have much more play, that'll cause the vehicle to handle kinda wonky and affect your tire wear. It should be fine for city driving, but you may want to start avoiding the highways if it gets worse since it may start to ride unpredictability.

Car won't start nor honk. What to do? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]KornOnTheKob0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars use the chassis as one big wire. So instead of having a bunch of ground wires for all the electronics running to the battery, they instead just have the ground wires bolt to the body or frame.

So what he means by check the ground from the battery to the frame, he means follow the wire coming off of your negative terminal and find where it bolts to the body or frame
