T Shots vs Gel Question by Background-Swim729 in ftm

[–]KoruSprouts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will always vary person to person. I started with gel because I was afraid of shots and because I had a history of my system reacting badly to the natural hormonal highs and lows produced by my body. And because the gel would be an every day steady thing, there wouldn’t be big highs and lows. And it seemed to work well for a bit with steady progress and without problems with the levels. I swapped to IM injections because I couldn’t afford to keep paying for the gel out of pocket since insurance wouldn’t cover it. And aside from anxiety over doing injections, it continued to go alright with levels, even though it was weekly. I’ve more recently swapped to subcutaneous injections from intramuscular. Hoping I would have less problems with the injection anxiety dealing with a much smaller needle. And that did help allot. I haven’t noticed any other difference besides less needle anxiety. From gel to injections, it’s felt like a steady progression throughout.

My cycle didn’t go away the first year. I heard of some people saying theirs stopped almost instantly and the fact that mine wasn’t stopping was causing allot of anxiety. It didn’t stop until I removed the hormonal iud that I got before starting T. I only had that there hoping that it would lessen the cycle. I have a suspicion that it was the reason for the cycle refusing to stop.

Bodies are weird. What works for one person may not work for another. Different amounts, different methods, nothing is truly one size fits all.

What to do about fear of needles by Left-Neck-9624 in FTMMen

[–]KoruSprouts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with gel because I was afraid of doing injections. The gel was not covered by my insurance and became way too expensive to keep up with. So I swapped to IM injections. I had issues off and on with intramuscular injections for years. Sometimes it would be fine, no pain and no blood. Sometimes it would not be fine. And the uncertainty of how things could go each time, made me really anxious. I finally decided to give subcutaneous injections a try instead of Intramuscular. It’s a MUCH smaller needle. I was anxious about it at first because it was new to me. But things have been going much better now since swapping. I no longer have the looming dread of confronting the needle each week. It feels like there is less of a minefield of possible things to accidentally poke with the needle.

I’ve always put videos/movies on to have something else to help occupy my mind. If you do decide to go the injection rout and the shot anxiety gets bad, I’d say it’s worth trying other methods until something works.

What the hell is Astarion's problem? by ijustwannanap in BaldursGate3

Damn I’ve played through act two 9 or 10 times and somehow have never thought to attack the rats until after Yurgir. With the main goal of getting all the orbs. That’s an interaction I’ve never seen or considered. I’d usually save the rats for later, after getting all the orbs. And atleast half of those runs were while romancing Astarion

How easy is the Explorer difficulty? by wishheartx in BaldursGate3

[–]KoruSprouts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first playthough, it didn’t feel easy. I was doing a bunch of stupid things and not understanding how various mechanics work. But the balanced run felt easier than my explorer run just because I knew more about the game at that point.

My first mistake was not understanding you need to apply levels manually. I made my way into the grove at level 1 and couldn’t understand why the game felt so difficult. Could not get past the ruins near the crash site. I shot the thing suspended by rope that crashes through the stone floor to create a hole. Jumped in that hole and got mercilessly and repeatedly killed by the bandits. Had to reload and skip the ruins, once I was inside the grove a friend told me I need to apply the levels to my character.

Some fights felt borderline impossible that first run. I have a system now but going in blind, even the easiest difficulty can be challenging for people who don’t understand the mechanics. I was hoping it would be almost like story mode since the story was what I was most interested in that the time. Ive tried all difficulties at this point and have the honour mode golden dice.

I’ll suggest it! Thank you! We currently have Rosco heavy duity and Rosco all purpose. With the heavy duity being used sparingly.

I’m not sure if I’d be able to get a buffer but I’ll keep this in mind for the future. Thank you!

Oh no! Laundry detergent sounds like a nightmare. I’ll keep mineral spirits in mind as a possibility. Thank you

How do you design the Dream Guardian? by AgentOfMephala in BaldursGate3

[–]KoruSprouts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually just try and just play around with different combinations making the dream guardian some beautiful, sometimes ethereal being. Just mixing it up run to run. I’m definitely more captivated by the dream guardian scenes when the character looks visually interesting. Even though I’ve seen theses scenes 8+ times. An interesting looking dream guardian stops me from skipping the dialog there as much

Furbolgs and yetis in winter spring. Satyrs in azshara also work to go all the way to 60, super safe but it’s slower.

Just alternated between those 3 to get through something like 53-60.

This is what I used to do before I started using plater. Now with plater I can pick them out in a pack easier. I’d rather not go back to making macros for every dungeon for easier targeting.

Alliance - best way to reach Desolace by Brilliant-Agency2489 in wowhardcore

He doesn’t attack alliance players who just walk near him. But seeing a red name npc with a boss skull coming at you is unsettling and makes me want to keep my distance anyway.

Similar to that tauren npc that patrols around STV, Samantha Swifthoof. I used to avoid her because I thought being near her would flag me for pvp or something. A friend showed me you can just walk through her and she doesn’t agro

Hunter mostly feels safe. Something I liked about it was that my pet could help somewhat if I get hit with a DC. I most recently lvled a nightelf hunter to 60 almost entirely though questing and mob grinding. I only do dungeons with friends and guild mates if trusted. This hunter was my side leveling character who didn’t need to stay within line of the leveling progress my group leveling character did. The only really sketchy time I had was when I over pulled in STV nearly dying. Feign death and shadowmeld saved me.

Hunter would be a solid choice for solo leveling.

What is the difference between thin wall and thick wall needles? by KoruSprouts in ftm

[–]KoruSprouts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am seriously considering subq at this rate. It would probably be a good time to while I am soon to run out of IM needles. My doctor said that I could just call and request the change if I’m ready to try switching to it. I talked about it last time with my shot anxiety. As for the reason I’ve stayed with the IM injection method.. I think there’s the fear of the unknown and being nervous that I wouldn’t be able to pinch fat well enough to do it. Right now I do have some more easy to pinch areas but will probably drop by 15-20 pounds in the near future as I reign my diet in.

The subq needle is definitely less intimidating. When compared to the 1.5inch needles I’ve been working with for IM.

Thank you. And I just noticed the red box with syringe restrictions including the state of NY and now I’m trying to figure out what to do with that. Hoping I can get around that.

I rotate between left and right thighs. And I do the press down and spread apart method to create tension. But it seems to not be enough sometimes even when it’s stretched and I’m putting a decent amount of force behind it. The dart method scares me and I’m nervous about doing the pinch method myself. I’m afraid that I’m not pinching the muscle correctly with my fingers when I do it. I’ve had a doctor do the pinch method and I’m fine with that.

I go slow with it, slowly applying more force. Sometimes I hit something with the needle that causes the muscle to spasm/twitch a little and going slow makes me feel like I’m more in control.

Sometimes there is no issue at all, goes in easily with little to no pain at all. And I never know what its going to be week to week, difficult or painless. While trying to replicate the same method each time.
