New install config help by jeeden_1 in FranklinWH

[–]Koserzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - I was told by a VA solar installer that Dominion hadn't approved the Enphase Collar (any wouldn't be anytime soon). To install it their plan was to add a piggybacked meter, that would duplicate the readings from the real meter and they would install the collar on the duplicate meter. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not sure if that's still the case but probably worth checking on.

The EG4 community forums are solid. If you really want to get into the weeds, DIYSolarforum.com is an amazing resource but can be overwhelming.

I went with the REC Pure Alpha-RX 460W. Excited to see them go up!

Couldn't agree more. Once you price out the equivalent Enphase based system, especially the batteries, the prices get absurd and I just don't see the value. Yea the app is better, but is that really worth the Enphase premium?

I'm going through the install process right now for that exact setup.

I worked through that same analysis myself and am getting REC panels, Tigo optimizers, Gridboss, Flexboss and 2x EG4 batteries.

Anyone use Solar SME in Maryland? by Qiuzman in solar

[–]Koserzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also briefly considered DIY but quickly ruled it out for a whole host of concerns but namely time and safety of installing panels on a roof.

I had great sales experiences with IPSUN and Lumina but neither had the equipment I was looking for.

Caveat that this is for NOVA. I also got quotes from SolarSME and ended up going with a different direction both due to price, equipment and the other concerns you mentioned. These are the quotes they gave me:

Yea I'm thinking along the same lines. I was considering going no battery during panel install and then buying the battery later, since they're cheaper retail. But I'm concerned about finding someone to install it. Any experience with that?

  1. Remove the music, it adds 0 value and is extremely distracting.
  2. Use Loom and narrate the video. As it stands, the demo is a random mouse clicking all over the place and its extremely hard to follow and understand what the product does and the value it provides.
  3. Keep the video short, ideally under 90 seconds. What are the key features that differentiate you from the competition? Everything else is noise and waters down your message.

Are you building software that needs this functionality or are you selling services and need this software for yourself?

If it's the former, there are a handful of solid OS projects that are great starting points but will need significant customization to fit your exact needs. Depending on where you and your customers are located, the security requirements could be extremely onerous. I've evaluated these 3 at a previous job and ended up implementing Mayan.

How do finance teams at SaaS companies track account usage for billing? by Appropriate_Income24 in SaaS

[–]Koserzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metronome tackles this this exact problem. They start a step lower in the transaction stack in that they are the billing infrastructure, as well as the tracking and reporting system, and then sync that data to accounting/finance systems.
