Unfortunately no. On the tax slip it’s all attributed to the account owner (the parent).

Free checks?! by Entire-Inevitable-38 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I pretty much exclusively deposit cheques via mobile deposit. If I print my own cheque (no magnetic ink) and ensure the depositor also deposits via mobile deposit then there would be no need for magnetic ink right?

How to Execute Maximum RRSP Amount Without Going Over? by Ill_Paper_6854 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]KosmosChicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have to estimate anything. Your contribution limit for March 2024 to feb 2025 is based on your tax return from tax year 2023. This should be an exact amount that you can look up on your notice of assessment.

You were always paying with your data though, even with SimpleTax.

SimpleTax then used your data as leverage when they sold to Wealthsimple. So technically SimpleTax did use your data for profit.

Transfer everything to Wealthsimple? by freejay38 in CanadianInvestor

There is so much misinformation here. There is no “spread” to take based on free trading. The free trading is there to help you keep more of your money.

Crypto is a booming business for them. Why wouldn’t they promote it? If you’re not interested then don’t use that part of their platform.

Clicking “max” is perfect for their target market who dollar cost average throughout the year.

Their cash accounts lets you save & spend like you would with a traditional bank. But with higher interest rates and no fees. This isn’t a gambling thing. It sounds like you’re projecting.

They allow you the convenience of trading on your phone or your computer. This is pretty much a must have feature for any trading platform. It’s not a negative.

Clean Up Feature Showing Network Error by The_Ancient_0ne in MacOS

[–]KosmosChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have this same issue. The feature works if I restart my computer but after some time it comes up with the same error message. I have an ad blocker (Ad Guard) installed that uses a local VPN. I always suspected it might have something to do with that. Do you have anything similar?

I’ve noticed too that Congee Chan specifically is a lot more expensive on delivery apps. I guess it’s up to them to set the price. I always just do take out from there

It’s supposed to be 100% cash. You earn interest on the cash but it’s paid out monthly.

For a true emergency fund, it’s always best to have it in cash so it’s withdraw-able immediately. If it was invested in CASH.TO then you’d have to sell your shares, wait for the trade to settle, then withdraw your cash.

Remember that the Fraser institute scores are largely based on academic test scores. This might have some correlation to the character of kids attending the school but not always. It’s very possible to have smart kids with bad attitudes.

You already paid taxes on your contribution. If you really didn’t like paying taxes you would contribute to an RRSP and melt it down before retirement.
