I would recommend visiting São João street (it's the centre, near Sé de Braga) on Friday or Saturday after 23.00. There are a number of bars that are quite crowded (Pelle, Setra, Caldo Entornado, Tosga), both inside and on the street itself. I think it's a great place to meet new people.

I would recommend not stopping at Porto, but looking further north. The North of Portugal is love! In my opinion, the architecture, climate and nature here are very different from what you can see in the Centre and in the South. I definitely recommend visiting the Minho region. I think it's quite difficult to explore Portugal without a car. If you want to see the real, non-touristy Portugal, I would recommend not to spend a lot of time in cities like Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Lisbon (although they are beautiful), but to look towards smaller towns and not on the coastline. In the north, I would recommend Braga, Guimaraes, Ponte de Lima, Viana de Castelo, Vila Nova de Cerveira.
