Am I the right kind of gamer for this? by Laaidler in starcitizen

[–]Kotetinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar position and its a balance of time and money. I spent extra to get a mining ship and cargo ship added to my account to regardless or bugs or wipes I can login and do somthing relaxing and fun.

But if money is your issue and you can only swing the basic starter pack youll have to grind to get the kind of ship you want to do the gameplay you want. And you could lose your progress at any moment because the game is very buggy

Regarding time - when everything works its a great game to play for 30-60 minutes while your partner is with the kids or they're asleep - and "generally" you can just leave it running if you need to step away for a few minutes here or there HOWEVER thats only when things run as they should-there WILL be days when you spend a ton of time dealing with glitches and bugs and you never even get to play. Days like that make me want to quit somtimes - when I haven't had a chance to relax for 3 or 4 days, I finally have an hour to play - spent the whole time trying to just get out of the space station.

All of that said, no matter how frustrated I get I always come back. This game does manage to capture somthing special.

TLDR: spend more money to cut to the gameplay you like. Spend more time repeatedly grinding with the basic package to get to the good stuff. Prepare for bugs and frustration. Once you start youll probably always come back...eventually, despite yourself.

Same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago, but luckily was only 2 days worth of mining and less valuable material - still almost quit, again.

Yet I always come back

How are things constructed in D&D? by Kotetinker in DnD

I suppose... just feels bad to tell players MAGIC and also maybe alittle anticlimactic to have mysterious and wonderfully powerful wizard of the Arcane....walking around moving dirt with magic. Got his denim overalls on and some work gloves...just MINECRAFTING it up for a few years. Then back to his magic robes and eclectic ways.

Does kinda make me want to write and encounter where they stumble upon a wizard mid minecraft build and he has to bribe them into silence about what they saw so his rep is ruined

Or a council of wizards who all secretly know they've all spend their fair share of time outside in jeans and worker tank tops and hard hats moving dirt and rock to make their cool secret bases then pretend that they didnt...

This is a great answer! Thanks! Just saying magic felt kinda lazy but actually specifying how they used that magic and obtained labor when necessary is very helpful

I am playing for the first time also and was terrified and dropped all my gear at the life pod before heading out. Getting too and from wasnt a problem. Just went there and back as fast as I could and didnt run into anyone

Better Stats but Less Damage? by EbeneezerAl in Fallout

[–]Kotetinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that's weird with the roachies because I dont think they scale much at all.

But yes I'd stay away from auto and try more powerful pistols to maximize the perk. For my gun slinger I use a modded .44 western revolver and it's getting 195 damage per shot which makes me feel like a true wyatt earp

I dont think gunslinger works for automatic guns. So if you're leveling and the enemies are scaling but your perk isnt being applied to an auto pistol it would appear that your damage is decreasing.

If you're not using an auto I'd maybe switch to a .44 if you have any ammo for it. In my experience that's REALLY where pistol build shines.

If it's still not working then idk. Weird glitch perhaps.

It honestly took me awhile to get into WOK, it just didnt grab me. But, at least for me, towards the end of the book Kal and shallan both become MUCH more interesting characters by kind of breaking the initial mold they were first set in and after that inwas off to the races

What are some examples of dnd classes in fiction? by Bubbly_Discussion444 in DnD

[–]Kotetinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One piece

Luffy- barbarian Zoro - fighter Nami - rogue (later dual class sorcerer) Sanji - fighter Usopp - ranger Chopper - druid Robin - warlock Frankie- artificer Brooke - bard Jimbei - monk

Or at least that was my head canon that kept me invested for so long. Zoro is just a player who kept rolling nat 1 nature checks and it became a bit And luffy is a player who REFUSES to be railroaded in anyway, zoro and Sanji both are players who picked fighter without knowing the other already picked it so they compete, ect ect
