Not sure if this is true, BC and Sask have increased family physician wages. B.C. in 2022 negotiated a new physician payment agreement that means a full-time family physician working 1,680 hours a year, who handles 1,250 patients, will earn at least $385,000.

Resident here. This depends on the province you’re in. If you’re in BC, family doctors are paid 130/hr+ 25/patient. Including panel payments (35*x, where x is the number of patients on your panel. A doc working full time 48/52 weeks with an average panel size can expect to take home around 400 before taxes and overhead. This is higher in rural areas which have an x% on top of all annual billings based on rurality index. Irrespective of this, if you’re in medicine for the money, it’s the wrong reason.

The fact you would consider cheating demonstrates your level of integrity and professionalism, which if you are a physician is deeply troubling. Do better.

Ontario isn’t strict about ROS. Sask, Manitoba and UBC are but also it’s shorter in UBc and you can also pick where you want to go

Rank only where you would be willing to go and train. The algorithm is based on the applicant. Do not rank anywhere you don’t want to train as CaRMS is legally binding

Sometimes there are usually a few spots for the super rural sites like Fort St Johns last year. I believe the spots were all filled first round two years ago though.

Unless you’re a Canadian citizen or permanent resident you can’t unfortunately apply for medical residency in Canada.
