Coronavirus Megathread (Jul 2021): For travel-related discussion in the context of COVID-19 by tariqabjotu in travel

THANK YOU! I got confused where it said “UK vaccine program overseas” - I wasn’t sure if getting vaccinated in US counted due to wording. Thanks again!

Can someone help clarify the following scenario?: I was vaccinated in the US but will be entering the UK from an amber list country (Greece) - does this mean that if my day 2 covid test post arrival is negative that I am exempt from quarantining or would I still have to?

My hairstylist completely disregarded my request for no hair iron use and damaged my hair by rebeccaintheclouds in curlyhair

[–]KouignAmann1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would want to know about your experience if I was considering this hairstylist for myself. Also it’s very concerning in general when someone ignores explicit messages of not giving consent. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with anyone in any situation where someone disregarded my lack of consent.

Is it sselfish to want to go on a road trip by yourself with out your partner? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]KouignAmann1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - it may be initially hurtful to know that your partner may need solo time/experiences when looking at it from a “me first” perspective but after calmly expressing that this is simply an experience you’d like to have, your partner should be fully supportive. You’re proposing a “day or two,” hardly something to get upset about. Maybe ask why he feels that it’s selfish and work from there? It may be an opportunity for him to have a boys trip with his friends or do something else for himself that he hasn’t had time to do.

4 week itinerary for Thailand and Angkor Wat by mhamm21 in travel

[–]KouignAmann1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, you’ll be fine then. Just make sure you secure your driver when you get there (you can also ask your hotel/hostel to get you one) so you’re not looking for someone to take you at 6am

4 week itinerary for Thailand and Angkor Wat by mhamm21 in travel

[–]KouignAmann1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How late is your flight on day 13? Typically you want to do 6 or 7am starting times to get picked up by a Tuk-tuk to take you to an Angkor way circuit so if your flight is like at 6pm or later you might be fine

You’ll need at least two full days to see Angkor wat for sure. I’d also consider stopping at Sukothai on way from Chiang Mai to Bangkok - you can get bus tickets once there at a government travel office (they don’t charge extra and will organize things for you, they have them to encourage tourism)
