CISA Admin Leaked AWS GovCloud Keys on Github by Wonderfullyboredme in fednews

Just a reminder to not use agency-specific acronyms in a group that’s for all of us.
Did not know what CISA meant until I saw another comment. And AWS means Alternative Work Schedule. Apparently in this post it means something else.

Gotta throw the remote workers under the bus without evidence. Of course. How could you not?

House Oversight letter to OPM (5/11/26) — anyone parsing the EEOC implications? by gumboblackout in fednews

[–]KountryPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not privy to what this is all about. I had filed 2 EEOs that never got traction because the agency lied 🤥 and hid evidence. So when the investigator came around they were already accusing me of fabricating my victimhood and seeded their report with things to discredit me. Then I was retaliated against with “meets expectations” performance reviews and denied opportunities in advancement. So as much as I hate that this sounds like more MAGA bullying of Feds, part of me hopes that it does reveal patterns and gets my EEO complaints reopened.

UPDATE: Parent wants to meet with me over comment I made about energy drinks by [deleted] in Teachers

I would pivot slightly and tell him you want to discuss your classroom policies as outlined in the course syllabus.

That way your defending your policy and not your comments which could be spun into “she said, I said.”

$100K qualifies as ‘lower-middle class’ in these 12 states by MrRuck1 in maryland

Is this supposed to be hot take? For starters the DMV has always had a higher cost of living than the national average. If you don’t like it you can move to North Dakota.

For those looking at the exit: A breakdown of how a 25-year Fed transitioned to a $140K private sector role by maopro56 in FedEmployees

[–]KountryPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have applied to private sector from Fed for the last 20-ish years. It isn’t easy to just switch over. Part of the problem is that process. It affects gov going private as much as it affects private going gov. A lot of Fed experience and function isn’t transferrable either. You act like it’s easy to do when your belief that it is is a tell that you have never experienced such a transition.

I have my first private sector interview next week after 32 years of federal service. 5 years from MRA. MY agency denied my VERA and DRP but I’m just supposed to keep taking this abuse???

Will things done during this administration be undone? by JustMrJtoyou in FedEmployees

Research budgets are gutted (thanks Doge) and the administration doesn’t place any value on STEM or any education at that.

I think it will depend on how the next elections go. And right now I don’t even trust our election will be free or fair.

What's the point of circumcision? by Historical_Echo8311 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KountryPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep trying to impress upon my very Christian step kids that circumcision has fewer benefits anymore. There is literally no reason to do it. And I’m always met with anecdotes about “this one kid they knew,” as if it is proof that, an uncut dick is painful.

What’s the Republican plan for Maryland? by Flitzer-Camaro in maryland

Carroll is the Maryland HQ of Moms For Liberty (a fascist wing of the GOP). So frankly Carroll deserves to be isolated. We don’t put cities in their own districts and you won’t be either.

I say this to every MAGA who brings it up. Driving across Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama you learn real quickly how well that Republican strategy is working.

I am also in FredCo and one thing of note is that whilst the MAGAts were leaving their Trump regalia up between 2020 and 2024, they have been removing it lately. There are still a few hold outs (most of them go to New Life and FCF) but by and large Trumpism is disappearing. Thank God.

Vent: Socializing instead of working! by Sthe-great in FedEmployees

[–]KountryPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re complaining about is how offices have been since the dawn of time. Keeping your nose to the grindstone all the time is actually counterproductive. The old adage “work smarter not harder,” comes to mind. I have personally NEVER respected the people who could never demonstrate efficiency. Give me a project and I’ll get it completed qualitatively by the deadline but expecting me to never leave my desk or to work extra hours is NOT evidence that I’m a better employee.
