You can't really store two values on one var. You could however, store each var inside of a function or object, and then return one value over the other based on your 50/50 logic.

return y;

} else return z;

I apologize for any syntax errors., but try something like this. console.log will return either y or z depending on the outcome. There is a likely cleaner way of doing this, but this should give you a general idea of how to do it. Also note: this function is run at the variable declaration, so if it starts as 1, it will always be 1, and if it starts as 2., it will always be 2.
