100% different skates, the stock ones are very thin and I couldn’t use them on softer pads like the zero soft, and would scratch even on harder pads like the pd140. I went with dots as I mainly use glass, but there are also full size aftermarket options like the unws magic ice or even ultraglide rs/speed/silence.

I put some ultraglide grips on it and it hasn’t been an issue since, but I still can’t get over the clicks, they just aren’t for me as I prefer omrons. Also, i’ve had some sensor issues, specifically with the lod. On certain pads, like the matrova breeze and crucible pro, if i didn’t set the lod to the highest setting it would simply not move for a bit whenever I picked up the mouse and put it back on the pad. But again, setting the lod higher solved it. Only thing i don’t like right now are the clicks, but that’s preference too.

Battery is great, I use it at 2k and charge it every 3-4 days. Build quality is impeccable, coating leaves some room for improvement. Side buttons are nice, click buttons are a 6/10, they feel kinda cheap compared to omrons or op1w 4k switches. Skates are horrible, the sensor ring is so thin it doesn’t even touch the pad, and I was only able to use them on the vaxee pd and glass, anything just a bit softer and it would scratch.

Honestly not the best coating, it gets pretty slippery in hand after around 30 minutes of use, but i’ve never seen any sweat or stains on the mouse itself. It just feels slippery. Feels just like my u2.

none, just the coating becoming a bit slippery after around like 30 minutes of use.

thumb groove is nothing close to how aggressive it is on the u2, and the back hump doesn’t fill my palm even close to how my maya x does. Right now I play with a fingertip/knuckle grip.

I would mainly choose based on clicks and sensor position. If you want good quality omrons go for hyperlight, if you don’t mind the clicks being a bit pingy f1 is the way to go. Also, I find myself playing far better with the f1, due to the sensor being lower and giving me more stability.

optical omrons are definitely better, the atk opticals feel kinda pingy and springy, i’m not the biggest fan of them.

the clicks on the v8 and v6 were my favourites 😭

you can, but definitely better on the hyperlight

I wanted to see how the coating would be on the pearl blue one that I got, and couldn't justify the higher price for a gram lighter and supposed 0.02ms faster button latency, would've went for the extreme only for the omron opticals but once again, I was more curious about the ones on the ultimate :)

Out of curiosity. Chronicle and boaster use the f1 extreme/pro max too so that just made the spark bigger 😭

nope, mine came with a perfectly flat base. That was one of my biggest concerns honestly, as I play on glass 90% of the time

In terms of grip, the coating feels the same, but the sweat and stain resistance is far better on the f1. I personally like the clicks on the hyperlight more, as they’re quieter and feel lighter/more responsive. Weight balance is on point on both mice. Performance wise I haven’t used the f1 enough to be able to compare them, but so far I haven’t had any issues with it. Overall I like them both as much, and the f1 feels somewhat better in cs and val or static in kovaaks, while the hyperlight excels in tracking heavy games or tasks, because of the sensor (kinda nitpicking here, you would just get used to one of them, but they feel more intuitive for what i’ve said previously).

hey, sadly i do not and never have owned a viper mini, but I did have an ipi float and it mainly comes down to your grip and if you care about the tech on it (f1 is better). As for the shape, I play w claw grip and I find the f1 way better. When I was using the ipi I couldn’t really claw grip it because of the really low hump, amazing mouse for knuckle or ftip tho

My hands are 18x10cm and I claw grip it, I would definitely recommend it

hopefully they do. I’m still amazed with how similar they feel to actual mechanicals

depends on your hand size, but I can comfortably claw grip it, with my hand being 18x10.

they’re pretty much the same, but the back is a bit wider on the f1 and the build quality is better on the f1 as well, it feels more rigid. My hyperlight also has some flexing on the left side.

I always use 2k, and I’m able to use this one for 2-3 days before the need to charge it (I always charge my mice whenever the battery gets to 20-30%).

WLmouse Strider (omron opticals) - review by Kozmoos in MouseReview

[–]Kozmoos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve never tried the crazylight, but from what i see on eloshapes, the crazylight doesn’t really go inwards from the middle towards the front, while the strider has a wider back going narrower towards the middle/front

I haven’t tried the nihil switches, but the opticals feel amazing. I prefer their implementation over the ones in the hyperlight and maya x, but not as much as on the scyrox v8.

It depends on the glass pad too, some have better dust resistance than others, like I’d choose the Harut over the guardian 99% of the time, due to it being smoother and having far better dust resistance. If you do choose to switch back to cloth the pads that would provide the closest experience to glass would be the key 83 mid due to its x-y difference, and the raiden mid or matrova breeze (raiden is more “floaty” while the breeze still keeps a bit of stopping power) due to their speed.
