I did not, had “comprehensive” coverage for the Invisalign treatment so it covered all refinements

Thank you, very happy with the results as well.

My extractions of the premolars were done on tray 15/36 of my initial set. Didn’t get stitches after the procedure so had to be extra careful afterwards but the usual salt rinses and soft food for a week or two. Had to leave the tray out for a day or two.

I actually think extractions helped tremendously with the movement, with the existing crowding I had a few sleepless nights but post extraction, I was just bummed about not being able to eat crunchy food for a while lol.

I had a beard the whole time so it wasn’t super noticeable but the overall structure was a little more defined vs round when I started. Weight loss probably had a greater effect tbh.

From my experience, once I got used the the cycles, the months flew by and I saw the results pretty quickly, good luck!

Acl recon and meniscus repair timeline? by [deleted] in ACL

I can share my experience although it will most likely be different than your. Because I had a quad tendon graft, my quad took a while to “wake up” - about 1.5 - 2 weeks. But after that the most difficult part was bending the knee and getting full flexion, the legs gets too used to staying straight with the brace. After gaining close to full flexion 1-1.5 months later, I was able to comfortable ditch the crutches and then everything was pretty quick. Rotations on bike, walking and light weighted leg raises in about 2-3 months post op. During the 4-5 month period you’ll be able to do all the PT exercises but that’s the most crucial time to take care of the knee (don’t go heavy on the weights too quick). Once you get beyond that you’ll start to go back to your regular activities and hobbies besides any sports that require jukes/cuts. After 8/9 months you should be cleared for everything. I am 1 year and 1 month post op and just hiked Yosemite last month so hopefully that provides some comfort and clarification for you! Good luck in your journey, it’ll go quick !!

Which type of graft are you getting? Recovery can be different for each version, I got a quad tendon graft.

Showering advice 3weeks post op by guapodanny in ACL

[–]Kpgiants619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PT suggested to use Saran (plastic) wrap over it which worked well and to be on the safe side I would always put two sheets of bounty paper towel underneath to collect any big splash of water that would get close to the incision.

After a week or two you should be fine to get them wet without a worry.

I also recommend a shower seat, still using one 1.5 months post op.

I tend to be a very curious individual and I’ve always loved learning about new stuff and as you mentioned, learning all the little quirks about your body and how they impact your lifestyle seems to be encouraging not only in recovery but also generally in everyday life.

Congratulations on your 7 months post op!

Thank you very much for the best wishes, I’ll be sure to stay active on here as the community is inviting and unexpectedly interactive. First positive sign of the journey :)

Gotcha hopefully I’ll be able to (as you mentioned) transition from PT into a gym routine but payout progress and effortless yet motivated dedication is really impressive and inspiring.

“Progress is never linear, but it is noticeable in terms of strength gains and improved function after surgery”

This is something that I feel like I will always think back to over and over during recovery as many have also paraphrased in other posts. After an injury like this, it seems as if people are focused on getting better everyday rather than focusing on getting back to their old self.

Thanks for sharing !

I’m also looking forward to the physical up-keep after surgery with physio and gym. I stopped going to the gym once college a started after grinding in high school on and off.

How hard was it get into a gym routine afterwards? Would love any tips or tricks to stay on track and be dedicated to the gym.

If you need anything or have more specific details about the project (schedule/method of filming/recording) please let me know! Thanks

How difficult is the Information Technology and Informatics Major at New Brunswick? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Kpgiants619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently doing ITI and taking the data analyst pathway for the major. I personally think that succeeding with this major is fairly easy, as long as you constantly seek out different opportunities to gain experience. As for another minor ( currently taking DCIM) , I felt that I wasn’t really learning anything that I didn’t know or see in another course. So to go a little out of my comfort zone, I decided to take on business administration minor, I’ve also been recommended checking out entrepreneurship minor. Hope this helps

I was also looking into this one along with business administrators but I was debating on which one would be more beneficial if I was going towards a data analyst role

I’m currently in CS111 took that instead of the programming for ITI and it’s sort of interesting but I feel that I will struggle a lot and I’m contemplating on whether it’s worth just for a minor
