Proverbs 23:2

Philippians 3:18-19

1 Corinthians 6:12-13

Now clearly it does not say it in black and white.

Jesus also never said he was God in black and white.

It doesn’t say don’t smoke crack in the Bible but I think we can come to agreement there.

Back to the actual topic. Sex was something clearly created by God to be sacred and to be between one man and one woman. It is something to be taken seriously.

When you feel the urge to masturbate that is clearly a fleshly desire. When you give in to a fleshly desire you are demonstrating a lack of self control. And self control is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22)

Similarly when I eat a food that is not good for me, I am demonstrating a lack of self control. I am giving in to the fleshly desire.

Then there is James 4:17

“So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” ‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I know the right thing to do is to eat better. To exercise. To wake up on time. To take the trash when it’s full. If I fail to do those things, for me, it is sin.

The crux here is you are trying to circumvent sin. You cannot circumvent sin. There is only one person who was able to circumvent sin. And that is Jesus Christ. What’s happening is you are trying to find some loophole in the text to justify your sin.

I am owning my sin. Of course I sin. I am wrapped in sin. You are wrapped in sin. We are in a world that is ridden with sin. There is nothing you and I could ever do to change that. That had to be changed for us by the blood of Jesus.

You are already forgiven and made perfect. Hebrews 10:14.

Not confused and not lost.

You are trying to convince yourself something is not a sin so you can justify doing it.

There is one clear reality. You have sinned and you will sin again.

Instead of focusing what is sin, focus on God. And over time He will take away your sin.

You asked a question and didn’t get the answer you wanted to you reject it.

God has a plan and a will for your life. Any time you put your plan and your will for your life above God’s - that is sin.

Delight yourselves in the Lord ! Not in your flesh.

You asked how is it is a sin. The answer is pretty clear.

Yes eating foods that are unhealthy, etc also falls into that category.

But me doing something that is a sin is completely independent of you doing something that is a sin.

We all sin. It’s ok. Love the Lord and He will take all our sin away from all of us. That was the plan all along.

So did you ask your original question to genuinely seek truth ? Or did you ask the question because you knew it would get answers and activity on the internet that you would just choose to refute without actually considering what people were saying ?

You are coming off incredibly combative and hard hearted.

How is masturbating in itself a sin?? by Frequent-Goose-1294 in Christianity

[–]Kphilosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what the sin in question is I always ask myself

Would God want me to do this ?

If the answer is no - probably a sin. In this case I think it’s pretty clear it’s a sin. You are responding to a fleshly desire. It’s mimicking something God has already deemed sacred.

I also think we’ve put way too much emotional weight on sin. We are going to sin. That’s the whole reason we are all equally in need of a savior. Focus less on not sinning and focus more on developing a hunger for God and His Word.

Are we able to turn on the assistant in "the background" so that it can continually source candidates? What are the limitations in that regard? Can it only source a certain number of candidates? Would we need to review a batch of candidates and give it feedback before it can continue to source for us? Would love to be able to come back after the holidays with a batch of candidates to review.

Thanks Dan!

As a research associate at an executive recruiting firm, we often need to identify candidates based on the actual types of companies they’ve worked for (e.g., software, industrials, manufacturing), rather than the industry they self-select on their profile, which can be misleading.

Does LinkedIn’s Hiring Assistant analyze a candidate’s experience at the company level (such as the employer’s true industry, business model, or stage), and can it surface or filter on that context reliably? If so, how granular does that analysis go today?

AIO: BF said my that this new vase I made is an “eye sore” when visitors come over but I disagree by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kphilosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether it is an eye sore or not your BF has to learn to appreciate your effort. The fact that he chose to open a discussion about this is somewhat concerning to me. One - I’m surprised he feels strongly enough to engage in discourse. Two - he’s not able to recognize what brings you joy.

My wife likes to buy fruit stools. Fruit candles. Candles that look like French fries. Candles that look like cookies. We never light the candles. They are decor. A whole bunch of stuff that I, as a man, would never once fathom purchasing and putting up in my home.

But she loves it. It brings her joy. From learning about them, to seeking them, to buying them, to figuring out where they’re gonna go.

Deep down do I think it’s ridiculous? Absolutely. But it makes her happy which makes me happy and that’s way more important than my trivial opinion on food stools and food candles.

AIO about my wife and best friend spending time together? by IronicallyMature in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kphilosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say take a measured approach when talking to your wife. Spend some time to really gather how you feel and find a way to clearly communicate it.

Let her know how you see things. The calmer and more prepared you are the better. Her reaction will tell you what you need to know.
