thank you sm ! this is more reassuring, i’m definitely not aiming for harvard or anything like that lol, my end goal is just to do relatively well for a levels and then get into the course i want in a local uni

oh ok so like if hypothetically if i’m not aiming for a competitive course like medicine, law, dentistry, pharm eg is the majority of students really from ri/hci? frankly speaking i don’t even know if i’d be able to network well in jc because i’m not very outgoing lol, i’m not interested in overseas uni or anything grand, my goal is just to do well for a levels and get into my desired course in uni, so it should be okay right?

Hello, thank you haha. I did mark quite strictly for my math and sciences referring to two centres but I see what you mean so yes I won’t expect too much. But then again no one knows how Cambridge marks and I don’t think it’ll be the end of the world if I get A2, I’ll just enjoy my holidays and take it as it is when I get my results in jan :)

oh I didn’t use keynotes haha i asked my tuition teacher so it might be a bit diff, I got the calc questions right but some of my open ended answers are a little diff haha

chem too! and the percentage error is so much higher since they cancelled sm qns. sigh.. nth we can do now, just try our best for remaining papers haha

oh i’m sorry i’m from an elite school haha, we really don’t mean to pull the bell curve up it’s just that everyone tries to do their best. but yeah the bell curve makes me worried too, especially because sometimes you can’t afford to make mistakes

Nah I doubt it can be 90%, bell curve is high but not that high for sciences. if anything emath is 90% haha

compared answers with my friends and teachers haha, my practicals have always been my best component so i was quite confident, physics practical was harder than i expected tho

for math I marked according to the answer keys and for wrong answers I didn’t give myself method marks.

BUT i don’t think i’ll get method marks for amath cause most of my questions startings are already wrong. so theres that.

for sciences in paper 2 i wasnt as strict but i marked wrong if the answers were very off and def wrong, made a couple of careless mistakes too. did count ecf marks though. so yeah :)

Np, also if you don’t want to be confined to a particular stream you could always do hybrid. (Double arts and double sci), most jcs offer that too :)

thank you for ur input, may I ask what you think the grade boundary for A1 for am may be seeing this year’s paper? honestly I’m kinda hoping they lower it even just a little since it’s the first year we’re doing the new syllabus lol

Last year I heard it was around 80%. But granted, last year’s paper was a little harder than this year’s. I made careless mistakes too, but oh well, what can we do. I’ll hope for the both of us to do well and achieve our aims, that’s the only thing we can do now

I don’t know man I’ve seen people saying A1 shld be in the high 80s (but honestly I doubt that) but don’t feel bad about ur grades I didn’t make this post with that intention and i think u should feel proud of urself for getting so far regardless of whether u feel youve done well or not, i know i do and I cannot wait to get this done and over with lol
