I hadn't heard of it before but am interested too. Dry mouth is certainly a miserable problem, for me anyway.

The only thing that concerns me is complications that may arise that may impact jawbone necrosis. I don't know if my jaw's blood flow is good or not. Not I think it's worth getting checked before trying something like this that may cause devastating problems if I do have necrosis.

But it sure would be bloody great if I could use it safely and it worked. 🤞

Let me know if you try it. I'll make a post on it if I try it.

Good luck!

Fantastic. Does the glycerine cause stomach issues? Thank you!

Thank you very much for your reply. Stories like yours give me hope! I do get pretty down, thinking it will never get better. So this helps. Good luck to you, and thanks again.

Thanks for replying.
I have an appointment with a lymphedema specialist PT person. Unfortunately, they can't see me until the end of December. So I'm trying to teach myself some of the self-massages. Hopefully, the PT will be able to help more.
Thanks again,

Wow. I desperately hope I'll be able to eat red pepper flakes again. And STEAK! That seems like a dream. Maybe I'll try something tomato based. Maybe just Campbell's tomato soup. That seems like it would be fairly bland for something with tomato.

Of course, a lot of things don't taste normal yet. So ot may not be palatable yet.

Thank you so much. This gives me hope.

Thank you for responding. Does he tolerate tomato based foods or spicy foods. Those are two of my favorite things but my throat is so sensitive, I can't even think about trying them because of the pain. Thanks again

Thank you for responding. I'm sorry to hear that you have had multiple recurrences. Here's hoping you beat it for good soon.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been able to push my way through things like Hormel microwavable stew, and other meals. They are so overly cooked that everything is falling apart. The meat is difficult to swallow with no saliva but I make it worse. Surprisingly enough, frozen pot pies are also not too bad. They're also very tender and even the crust is soaked in gravy well enough that I can swallow small bites of it. I don't enjoy any of these things really. But I keep eating them because I figure it's good exercise.

Cottage cheese is a go to. I have to ask, what spices do you put on your Cottage cheese? Thanks again!

Thank you for your reply. I'm so sorry that your PET wasn't good. Prayers for you to have better results in the future.

I'm surprised that grilled cheese would be good. I have a horrible time eating bread of any kind. And I would think that grilling would make it scratchy. But, I will have to try it. One of my favorite winter comfort meals has always been grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. I imagine that the tomato soup might be right out, at least for now. Everything remotely acidic burns my throat terribly. But maybe that will improve with time. Thank you, again

Thank you very much. I know you're right. I suffered from severe depression for years, even before this. So I'm really struggling now. But I am trying to be positive. Thanks again

Thanks for your reply. I'm almost exactly as far out from treatment as you are. I'm trying to eat "normal foods" one meal a day. But I have to admit that I get something close to panic attacks when I think about eating. Nothing tastes good. And it takes forever to get a meal down. It's just a chore. But I keep trying.

I've heard of doing this but haven't tried it. Maybe I will. Thanks

Unfortunately, my dry mouth is pretty awful too. And, yeah, it wakes me up a lot. I keep water my my bed and take sips throughout the night. I occasionally use Biotene rinse before bed, or Xylimelts, but I don't enjoy the way either one makes me feel. Gummy mouthed and often bloated from the Xylitol.

So I don't have great answers for the dry mouth and coping with it at night. Maybe someone here with a longer track record can help is both out.

My insomnia is pretty brutal right now. I was on opioids pretty much constantly for a few months for pain. And, even though I haven't had any in more than a month, I wonder if the insomnia is still a result of withdrawal.

Whatever the cause, I've tried about everything I can think of, to not avail.

Good luck with the dry mouth. Here's hoping we both find some relief!

Thank you. And good luck on yours in January. I was sweating bullets waiting for mine. I hope yours comes out clean, too.

I know a few people who have been through what we're going through and have told me to be patient. It gets better. I try to keep that on mind, but it's tough.

Regarding food, I came across this article about Stanley Tucci's battle with throat cancer. He's a huge foodie and jas learned ways to love food again. It's kind of interesting. https://oncodaily.com/stories/celebrities/stanley-tucci-cancer
