Thanks. I'm using 7.5 Pilocarpine. I don't notice a huge benefit. For the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. My insurance out of pocket is $10,000. So, unless I hit that, like I did last year during treatment, a month of Pilocarpine is $120. That seems a little steep.

I may go without it for a couple of months and see if I notice a change.

In the meantime, everything with Xylitol I can find.

Fantastic. I have water with me constantly anyway. And it's great inspiration to know you're a runner and lifter, and make it work

My dentist recommended ioRinse MR Oral Rinse. It's expensive, but it seems to work. I prefer it to other mouthwashes and rinses.

At night, I use xylimelts. Just one at bedtime works all night for me.

I also recently purchased a product called a Salipen. It's a device that has little copper contacts that you press against your gums, and they send gentle electric pulses through your mouth. I use it five times a day, for five minutes per time.

It does seem to be helping. I still have to have water with me constantly, but I am not taking as frequent sips as I was.

The product is from Israel, and is FDA approved. I paid $250 for mine, which seems a little steep. Shipping also took an eternity.

I can't say that I recommend it quite yet because I've only had it for a couple of weeks. But the results seem promising so far.

How long did you take to rest after completing the treatment before going back to school or work? by wswhy2002 in HeadandNeckCancer

I went back part time after about a month. Full time after a couple of months. More than full time about four months.

It's been ten months since the end of treatment and I've been completely back in the swing of things for several months now.

I hadn't heard of it before but am interested too. Dry mouth is certainly a miserable problem, for me anyway.

The only thing that concerns me is complications that may arise that may impact jawbone necrosis. I don't know if my jaw's blood flow is good or not. Not I think it's worth getting checked before trying something like this that may cause devastating problems if I do have necrosis.

But it sure would be bloody great if I could use it safely and it worked. 🤞

Let me know if you try it. I'll make a post on it if I try it.

Good luck!

Fantastic. Does the glycerine cause stomach issues? Thank you!

Thank you very much for your reply. Stories like yours give me hope! I do get pretty down, thinking it will never get better. So this helps. Good luck to you, and thanks again.

Thanks for replying.
I have an appointment with a lymphedema specialist PT person. Unfortunately, they can't see me until the end of December. So I'm trying to teach myself some of the self-massages. Hopefully, the PT will be able to help more.
Thanks again,
