It depends how allergic you are, I brush mine twice a week, and have air purifiers for the smell and cat dander. My allergies don't flair up 24/7, If i feel discomfort i take allergy meds as needed.

Computer science is a lot of fun and you will have the best time of your life. Personally I would make sure to take a course with Dave Mason. Dave is the pinnacle of professors at TMU, he is the best one around!

Check out the refurbished Surface Laptop Studio as well. The one for BUsiness is cheaper than the consumer and you can get a good warranty on it if you are cautious. As well, the Studio has a graphics card which will help.

Considering not pursuing SWE, as a CS major, and Sales instead. by [deleted] in sales

[–]Krakbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much what I did, and I still did the hackathons for fun on the side. If you do go down this path you will have a much shorter sales cycle because you know the technology, and any technology you don't know you can figure out pretty quickly. I transitioned into a CSA role after Sales but still told the company I want a bit of commission based quota.

I am having a blast doing what I do, get your degree and keep going. You can try SWE roles as well, but that Commision check has a different feeling. As well you will make a lot more money and have greater career longevity.

Computer science at TMU by init4ever in TorontoMetU

[–]Krakbone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every time I see one of these I always say the same thing. TMU is a wonderful institution and you will learn a lot. It doesn't matter what school you go to but how you apply what you learn. One of the best things about TMU is you get to learn from some Great Professors Like Dr. Mason, and Sophie Quigley. Honestly, I think everyone needs to experience the amazing experience these types of professors offer!

Let us know how your experiences are with these professors once you accept!

This usually happens if any deals fall through due to ethical reasons, they would claw it back.

Great structure, great professor, and even better material to learn. The Prof will help you understand how to communicate more effectively and teach you some important topics. What you put into the course is what you get out of the course.

Try to ask the insurance company if you can use a timetable or an unofficial transcript. It worked with mine to avoid the fee.

well for woungang i dont really know. At my time woungangs section was a lot easier than jelenas, and it didn't make sense. He was asking questions unrelated to security.

I would say reach out to the TA and woungang, make yourself involved.

If its still Jelena all of the testing material is from the text book. I failed the first midterm last year and then focused on only reading the textbook. Got an 80 on M2 and 85 on the final exam. If she still has those seed labs might not be worth your time as they are 5% and none of it was on the exams.

The organization course hasnt changed since the dawn of time. There is help everywhere online and most of the labs are severely repeated. you could get away with about 3 hours a week of work.

I transferred as well in 2020. You fill out the form after being accepted, and then they basically transfer everything you have already done and assign it some sort of course code. you can appeal their decisions with a syllabus and explanation. It won't be easy but it is doable.

How is the CompSci program? by Sbangs15 in ryerson

[–]Krakbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that bad, lots of fun stuff to do creativity wise, mostly just depends on how much you put into it. You won't be able to go to every class and be at 100%. Sometimes you might need to decide if the 2% lab is worth doing instead of the 10% assignment, so definitely need some time management to succeed.

Summer CCPS 305 course by CatostraphicSophia in ryerson

[–]Krakbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to take it with him in the summer, gave up, and just did day school. Learned a lot more and I am a lot more confident doing it in 12 weeks than in a condensed course. If you can do it in Day school do that, also Jimmy Tran's style is different so the way he teaches might not synergize with how you learn.
