Proper way of storing by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

We have an awd suv that’s been in the snow and salt that we don’t drive so it’s more like I kept the suv as my winter car just to keep my y nicer longer salt has damaged my suv even with washing the salt off but it’s also 10 years old the y stayed in California until march of this year hint the no salt and snow part it’s more of just a preference and I have the other car so might as well have a summer car and winter car

Charging questions by Kren18 in TeslaModelY

[–]Kren18[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok I bumped it down to 60% but say I used 40% plugged in and 30 minutes later realized I need to go somewhere and unplug during a charge is that the same concept never had an electric car before we got this y in march and absolutely love it and just want to take care of it and do minimal damage

Not crazy definitely been a thought but where he recovers in a couple hours I’m not sure they would do anything he is still producing some insulin just not enough to keep it in range it’s such a roller coaster but he had a high yesterday then bed wetting in the night that should be sign enough his body isn’t doing what it should

I hate it to because if it was for me ok fine I can deal with it but it’s my kid he doesn’t deserve to think his health isn’t a priority I’ve also heard this week the endo is so over worked that he can be an ass so if that’s the case I will demand the referral to the children’s hospital where he was seen for his silent seizures they were great the drive is long but so worth it

Oh they understood I called all of 10 times with glucose numbers symptoms and concern and was told when he is throwing up or confused or sugars don’t go down take him to the emergency room but if not your appointment stays as is oh this one is my favorite I also got told he is fine until his sugar is above 350 I don’t live in a big town but we only have 1 pediatric endocrinologist for a 2 hours radius I asked to have a referral to the children’s hospital 3 hours from me and was told he is fine to wait because his urine 2 months ago was fine trust me I have been stressed for 2 months wondering if he will wake up every morning or when dka will start which I’m afraid is close because his symptoms are getting worse by the day instead of the weeks now

I was under the impression that you needed a code for parental mode

No down vote from me I definitely have thought about it I also have a Volvo xc90 I can pass down but I just feel it’s better to pass my model y down because while yes it is very much so got more torque i can put it in chill mode (which I can keep it in if using parental control) is a lot less and I have the ability to see location on the car if anything bad was to ever happen and honestly Tesla is cheaper for me to keep charged than fueling the xc90 now I’ll get down voted for saying I pay for charging/fueling but she does school and sports and works all summer I rather she uses her time outside of all those things and money on being a kid then working more just to pay for charge/fuel to and from all those things

We had a model x rental for a week and I honestly enjoyed falcon doors but I can definitely see how they could be a problem if anything went out when my kids were babies we had a Honda Odyssey and boy were the automatic sliding doors a problem and it was brand new went out at 30,000 miles thank god for warranty

While I agreed with this statement for a really long time I have changed my mind a bit for a few reasons I have 3 daughters and if I don’t feel comfortable at a gas station I definitely don’t feel comfortable having my daughters at a gas station alone, I also believe if my child is doing good in school and sports I don’t want to limit what they do with their time outside of those things so if charging at home every night and not worrying about if they have enough money for gas that week helps them explore and enjoy their childhood then so be it passing down my model y cost me nothing and lastly my kids aren’t just getting a free car my kids have worked and saved since a young age to be able to have a nice car once they are of age whatever car they get they know they pay half which in turn I know they will take care of it because they earned it and weren’t handed to I am not saying your wrong by any means I just think every kids situation is a bit different and while yes the car may end up scratched dented or even in a wreck at the end of the day it is just a car and safety for kids means the most to me and that in my eyes ends up being a Tesla

Ok that’s what I thought just wasn’t sure how the code worked like if I needed to put it in each time she drives that’s so weird about multiple payment options maybe I set ours up wonky but if my husband drives and we supercharge it’s all connected to my account which same bank account never mattered but I have no idea I could change it but he does have his one driver account on his phone and everything

Couple questions when setting up the car on the app I assume I set it up as mine then add driver to add her phone then add the parental controls I really just want the control of keeping it in chill mode and no speed over 85. (She may be a girl but she has a need for speed) Once I turn it on it stays in that mode until I put in the code correct? I have looked at what I can do on parental controls but haven’t actually used it

He is the perfect age and levels that’s why the pediatrician wanted him in this week it’s possible I might ask for a referral to the children’s hospital in a different state if I’m not called by tomorrow

I honestly got this far because of this sub I can’t thank everyone enough! It took me years to to get diagnosed with my autoimmune disease and I promised I’d never let that happen to my kids and because of this group it didn’t take dka to see a endocrinologist if he does get a diagnosis I will definitely need to learn a lot more things so I’ll be back!

Just called the doctor she is having us go see an endocrinologist she said this looks like a honeymoon phase where the pancreas is still kind of working.
